looks like panel fail to me,bad tab bonds
try re-seating lvds cable after cleaning contacts both ends with iso alcohol
flex gently the screen, does anything change?
still could be t-con though

Re: lg 47inch picture fault
I'm going to agree with panel, and I've never had good luck repairing LG panels with tab faults :/. Has to be zero for three on success rate. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: lg 47inch picture fault
Well--trust me to disagree!
I had a 37" LG 1080P set on Sunday with exactly that symptom--Working well for up to half hour, sometimes only 10 mins from completely cold. Strange thing is--certain scenes, like computer generated stationary images (intros to programs etc) were mostly stable--only when the pic changed to motion would it go beserk!
It was the Mainboard at fault.
Changed the T-Con, no difference, replacement (Philips-LG) mainboard cured the fault completely.
It was a LG 37LF66 summit or other....TELEFIX
How PLASMA SCREENS WORK, X-SUS and Y-SUS what they do--
