I have a Sony Bravia with a fraction of the screen showing vertical colored lines. I replaced the main 'A' board with no change in the display. Any suggestions?

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-40S4100 vertical colored lines
Thans, BudM. I have torn it down to see if it is a tab bond issue. Sadly, a small component fell off the original main board (bottom right of the board, component at arrow, empty pad just below arrow). I think it is a 22uH fixed inductor (?). I am now looking for the inductor so I can solder it back on the board and proceed with repairs.Comment

Think it will still work without that inductor. Believe that's only for audio output.Did I leave the soldering iron on?Comment

Re: Sony Bravia KDL-40S4100 vertical colored lines
Good news and bad outcome. After tearing it down, I found it was a tab bond problem, and I shimmed it and it appeared fixed. When I screwed it back together, I neglected to align the glass panel into the frame, got it in a bind and it broke. Oh, well, guess I will be selling components!Comment

by thstuffThis "free from a friend who was going to recycle it" SONY BRAVIA XBR-55A8H arrived with the bottom center RED LED repeating a four flash pattern. It was treated with kid gloves and was reported to have "just gone dead" and the OLED panel has no dents in the metal frame or cracks.
Thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1091829 helped in proceeding as follows:
1) Unplugged, then plugged set in while holding the remote VOL- and Power to factory reset.
2) Waited 30 seconds, then pressed remote Power button and "Select language"...01-30-2023, 05:01 PM -
First. it has no picture at all. i solved it by covering the ckv lines using tape to to block the connections
Second. now has picture but with vertical lines that follow the image. tcon board ic overheating
tried blocking LC lines too, but same results
is it lcd panel issue or tcon board issue?... -
by ggil44Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

by PopsCapsI have a Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 that will not power on. The indicator flashes red 3 times.
I do not hear any sound and I cannot see any backlight.
I have tried disconnecting every cable on each board one at a time to see if anything changes.
The only change is when I disconnect AC-DET cable on the Power Supply board or on the other end if I unplug the CN7009 connection on the B-Board and try to power on the TV the indicator will stay on solid green until I power off.
My friend ordered another used power supply board but it is also doing the red indicator flash 3 times... -
by ChrissygizmoHello again everyone,
This is my latest mission, to try getting this Sony tv back to normal working order…
I've only just got it today, when you power it up everything is as should be, in fact it works perfectly for a few minutes then the screen starts getting horizontal lines on & eventually the full screen goes back, I will upload photos of the problem & also some photos of the board etc. You might notice that I'm busy trying the tape method, I'm not sure exactly where the clock lines are so I'm just guessing & hoping for the best lol . I've already tried... - Loading...
