      Re: Digihome 32" LED TV

I have an issue with a Philips 32PFL3008T, where the power board type is 17IPS19-5P. The TV is working, but I get no backlight (i.e. screen looks black but shows content when lit by flashlight). Is it the same powerboard that handles the backlight and do the advice in this thread apply?

I have this same power supply board used in a Telefunken set relatives gave to me to attempt repair. Same problem here: TV is dead.

So far I've found the schematics here.
          http://elektrotanya.com/vestel_17ips.../download.html

But be aware that the board we have (mine is identical to the pic posted here) is a bit different from the schematic: they simplified the circuit and omitted some parts to save costs, so it becomes harder to nail problems.

Hi guys i have a faulty Vestel 17IPS19-5 installed in a Hitachi 32XHC01.The initial situation was a tv completely dead. After replacing the three top diodes SB5B0 (one was bad) the tv turns on again but i still have a little problem, a loud buzzing noise coming from the L502 component,

Turn down the brightness see if it goes.

Just to add to the great info above, another Vestel 17IPS19-3 here, in a Finlux 26" FIN26LEDHDR, with the 3 SB5B0's at the top, and 3 UF5402's towards the bottom.

Found one of the SB5B0's (nearest the transformer) to be shorted, the other 2 were ok. Replaced the shorted one with an SB5100, and the TV powers up ok. Will replace all 3 with SB5100's.

Haven't tested the 3 UF5408's. Has anyone found any of these to be shorted at any time? Might leave them if not. The set is easy to work on if they do eventually need to be done.

Hi all had the same problem the diodes are coming out at 0.00 - 0.02 up and down. I noticed this isn't a very recent thread but I usually get my diodes at work and have never had to actually go out and buy them. I've tried an online search for where to buy the diodes for this board and have so far come up with squat. Can anyone help?

i try to use the likes of rs or cpc for parts but most have minimum orders so yes ebay is ok for the odd orders like this your local maplin store may have these parts in too some stores are better than others though.

                                by dcbw
The PSU works, but shortly after powering on (either in the G5, or by shorting the power-on pin to ground) it begins buzzing loudly. It also makes the LED lights connected to the same circuit flicker. It's definitely a buzzing, not a high pitched whine.

The buzzing seems to come from the high voltage side of the board, perhaps from the white relay. Could the relay be bad, or could the 5V supply be bad enough that it's unable to keep the relay on? Any pointers to help isolate the issue? Thanks!

I have a Sony XBR-65X850E that won't power on, and has no status lights.

Immediately upon plugging in the TV, it tries to power up (before pressing anything). I can tell because after plugging the TV in, the main transformer on the power board begins buzzing, 2 seconds on, 2 seconds off, and it does this exactly 7 times before the TV goes back to an “OFF” state. If I press the power button on the TV, the same cycle repeats. I can confirm that no ‘status' LED's are lighting up when this happens. The backlights also do not turn on, but I can confirm that they at least “light...

The pics are off the other really long thread as they are much clearer than my phone will do.

                                The fault:

In standby there is no buzzing.
After signal input and turn on, a loud buzzing is emitted from the main transformer, no backlight.

It is because the 24v line is at 21v irrespective of whether the inverter is plugged in. There is a picture on the screen.

If you wait long enough the buzzing stops and the 24v line changes to 24v and the inverter comes on.

I have checked every single cap on the psu and logic board by un-soldering...

Only 3 years old. Owner said backlight went out and burning smell. Didn't bother plugging in to check if had power LED. Just opened the TV rear and found shorted bridge rectifier diode on the backlight circuit on the PSU. SF26G (400V 2A super fast recovery rectifier link ) diode replace with SF26 (what I had on hand) Google AI said G = Green Components.

Burn looked pretty bad on the board but just was blackened carbon coating material. Scraped and cleaned off quite well and clean solder pad for the new diode.
