        Re: Digihome 32" LED TV

Hi, I'm new to the forum, wondering if you can help me out as my tv just died.

I have the same board as joe (17IPS19-3)

Tested the both 400v capacitors and they seem fine (360v)

I then tested the diodes with the help of toms diagram above. I am getting -26.9v on the top 3 diodes and 26.5v on the bottom 2, does this mean they are knackered? Thanks for any help

Also tried this, I am getting 00.0 on the top 3, but I am getting a reading that is rising on the bottom 2 (00.0 all the way up to 30.8 until finally stopping)

          Sorry I meant "-26.5v"

Well you have the same ohms test results as Joe so you can do as Tom said in post 18
or just replace all five diodes.

                      Re: Digihome 32" LED TV

Hi, I have the same Vestel PSU board in a 32" JVC LED TV. I have replaced the 3 top diodes shown in the pic in post 12 as one of them had shorted. The PSU now powers up and I can measure 12.4v on the top lead of the 3 diodes I replaced. However the the TV still does not switch on. I fitted 3 SB5100 diodes, but on further inspection, noted one of the 3 original diodes was a SB5BO. Could this be the problem? Any help greatly appreciated, there does not seem to be any of these boards on eBay at the moment.

They would probably not cause an issue if 12V is OK. Does the power light blink at all? Is it lit or not?

Hi again, just been told that the this TV does not have a power light. The PSU board emits a noise a little louder than the background buzz for a few seconds when first powered up. (When working the TV would turn on when plugged in and not go to standby) It also does this when I press the power button on the remote as if it is trying to turn on then giving up!

I have similar problem with a toshiba its fitted with the same board, currently I am seeing 340v across c116 / c121 as indicated, on the Isolated side I am seeing 7.4 volts to ground on D318-D320 and 0 volts to ground on D206-D208. Neither set of diodes appear shorted. The set flashes red/green but no other start.

                                  Hi there guys,

I just wanted to say a big thank you to tom66 and to the other people on this thread. I am a marine electronics specialist but tinker with ham radio (2e0kai uk) and all sorts of other electronics.

I have the vestel board from the picture in the first page in a toshiba 32 inch TV.
I was head scratching regarding a fix as I'm used to seeing at least some visible sign of damage like scorching or bulging caps etc.

My board is identical except I have three diodes top and bottom.

After searching and finding this thread I promptly snipped the diodes and found a single one to be faulty showing on the diode test of my meter. I replaced it with a 3A equivalent and voilla!

Now stress testing the TV with xbox360.

                                  Thank you again.

                                    Hi,

I´ve got the same problem and I want to replace all 5 diodes to be save.
                                    There are 3x "UF5402", 2x "SB5B0" and 1x "SB5100 2019"

The SB5B0 and SB5100 are both 100V 5A, can I replace them with 1 and the same 100v5A diode or it there a reason they used different type?

and can I use any 100V 5A diode (for exaple SF52) or do I need to use the same one?

Replace SB5B0 and SB5100 with same device (100V 5A schottky.) Do not use a fast recovery or standard diode, must be schottky type.

The other one can be replaced by UF5408/MUR460/HER308G, I recommend upgrading the voltage rating due to a design flaw (Vestel exceed voltage rating on power-up which causes early diode failure. Among other causes.)

Sorry for keeping you waiting, but today I´ve changed the diodes.
                                          3x SB5100 and 2x HER308G and it works!

But now there is an other problem, L502 is buzzing a bit.
(not sure about the english name of the part hehe )

I am sure it´s L502 that is buzzing, because when I touch it with a screwdriver the sound of the buzz changes. But it does not go away.

Anything I can do about that?

The PSU works, but shortly after powering on (either in the G5, or by shorting the power-on pin to ground) it begins buzzing loudly. It also makes the LED lights connected to the same circuit flicker. It's definitely a buzzing, not a high pitched whine.

The buzzing seems to come from the high voltage side of the board, perhaps from the white relay. Could the relay be bad, or could the 5V supply be bad enough that it's unable to keep the relay on? Any pointers to help isolate the issue? Thanks!

I have a Sony XBR-65X850E that won't power on, and has no status lights.

Immediately upon plugging in the TV, it tries to power up (before pressing anything). I can tell because after plugging the TV in, the main transformer on the power board begins buzzing, 2 seconds on, 2 seconds off, and it does this exactly 7 times before the TV goes back to an “OFF” state. If I press the power button on the TV, the same cycle repeats. I can confirm that no ‘status' LED's are lighting up when this happens. The backlights also do not turn on, but I can confirm that they at least “light...

The pics are off the other really long thread as they are much clearer than my phone will do.

                                            The fault:

In standby there is no buzzing.
After signal input and turn on, a loud buzzing is emitted from the main transformer, no backlight.

It is because the 24v line is at 21v irrespective of whether the inverter is plugged in. There is a picture on the screen.

If you wait long enough the buzzing stops and the 24v line changes to 24v and the inverter comes on.

Only 3 years old. Owner said backlight went out and burning smell. Didn't bother plugging in to check if had power LED. Just opened the TV rear and found shorted bridge rectifier diode on the backlight circuit on the PSU. SF26G (400V 2A super fast recovery rectifier link ) diode replace with SF26 (what I had on hand) Google AI said G = Green Components.

Burn looked pretty bad on the board but just was blackened carbon coating material. Scraped and cleaned off quite well and clean solder pad for the new diode.
