TV powers on fans work green light on SC and SS board all boards look good
as for caps etc. Now for the clues,
1 20 red blinks when off no such number on panasonic chart!
2 Screen is grey/white like its lit but no sound or picture.
3 Small red light bottom right corner near where antenna goes in.
4 Panasonic repair manual led me to D board which i replaced with no luck!

Ah yes. I remember this one. After much trouble shooting and trial and error it turned out to be a main board issue. Many many caps with over threshold esr. Replace it. It's cheap enough I believe. You can use a th-42px60u as well but will lose front input jack connectivity but is a much more common board.

D board hooks onto the main board (DG) which hooks onto the analog input board (H), IIRC.

Replaced DG board still got 20 blinks but picture now black in middle with 2 thick white vertical bars each end of tv?

Put back in your original dg board. Are the lines still there?
Before you try that though hit the format button on the remote and see if the lines go away.

Something may not be supplying these boards with the proper voltage possibly. Or your dg you just received may also be faulty.

The remote does not have a FORMAT button on it its the original remote says tv guide at the bottom?When i turn it on with the remote their are no lights on it clicks relays twice then the white lines come on if i use the remote it goes on and off with no lights.If i use the tv power button when it shuts off the 20 red blinks go on?Any clue?thanks.

yes this is the same exact problem that I had it has something to do with the flaky Eeprom. I tried software updates did not help I replace the mainboard problem was solved for me I don't understand where the white bars are coming from except maybe the TV is set in letter box mod but you can't see anything on the screen. Mine did the same thing with the remote also where I had absolutely no picture at all and if I turn it off by the remote there was no flashes but if I turn it off by the TV there were 20 flashes. I tried every board I could possibly think of because I had a spare parts TV that had a crack screen and when I swapped out the mainboard problem was solved. I can't say for certain that you're bored is defective that you just purchased or not but what I would do if I were you would be to put in your original DG board and see if the white bars are still present. just to confirm you have no swapped out all boards except for the analog tuner board that In the shield right?

Glad you had the same problem and thanks for your help.The d board and dg have been replaced but i never replaced the analog tuner in the shield!I will swap back the dg board and see what happens and let you know.

You got a dg, d, dt, and pa board right? try hitting the D board with heat well the TV is on and see what happens?

heat did nothing.nothing with remote.Will now put old dg board back and see what happens!Also is their supposed to be a red light on the dt board bottom right in a small black plastic square?thanks

Yes red led is normal. How about heating dg while off. Then power up while board is hot
