I have in a TCL 65S4 TV that is dead it seems. I did some research and looks like everyone says backlights. I managed to get the screen off in one piece and checked the backlights with my tester and all are working same brightness. I got it back together ok and tried turning on again in a quiet place and nothing no screen even with halogen light against the screen. Next thing I see popular is the power board so got one from eBay from a "cracked screen" tv. And still nothing. Could I have another bad power board or go for the main board right away? Can the experts tell me how I can check this power board???
Another Cheap TCL issue I need some help with

Few questions. Do you have power indicator light?
If yes, when you hit power does the light go away and appear to turn on?
do you have any sound when you hit like up and down on Roku remote (if it "turns on")?
But with multi meter you would put your black lead on the chassis, I stick it in the holes for wall mount and put red lead onto the pins on bottom left of power board, shown in picture. TV has to be plugged in everything connected, but be careful, the hot side can give you a zap.

by Asraf AtbHi everyone,
Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.
Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.
I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....1 Photo -
by StephenCustomer plugged in samsung monitor into the board and used it as a power supply, killed UG800 and UG400. I replaced those two with an exact donor board we had In stock and working, board pulls 5volts and then gets like 2.89 amps on the left side. The singular port is the port that failed. Used a perfectly working chips from donor (board was locked) Now I only get 5volts 0 amps on that power and then 20volts 0 amps on the two left side ports, I checked for DFU and nope nothing, computer not turning on. No shorts present anymore. I am confused as I used the exact components from an identical...

by notallbadOriginally the tv arrived with dimmed backlights (not failed leds) but everything else worked ok. Adjusting backlight in menu did nothing but voltage changed on dimming control pins,
0% p_dim at 1.65v and a_dim at 1v
50% p_dim at 3.3v and a_dim at 1.65v
100% p_dim at 3.3v and a_dim at 2.88v
Changed backlight leds anyway as always like to have complete peace of mind they wont fail shortly after selling the tv. No change as expected!
Leds are 2 rows of 15 6v leds.
On inspection of the power board found diode MBR3200 shorted so replaced with...6 Photos - Loading...
