Olevia 237-T12 repair

hi,

my sister has a tv "Olevia 237-T12 repair" and she said this tv the picture stops working after about 10min.

I opened it up and looked at all the caps and they all look just fine. I know that does not mean they but i also put an esr meter on most of them and the ones i tested all look fine.........not sure what to do.

i did have another question. where the antenna/cable connector it looks like it is "bent" i have taken pics. not sure what to do about this.....even if i get the other working which is doubtful what do i do about this

i am uploading a few more pics

see the one with the yellow circle......shoudl the two metal connections be "together" they look like they have come apart .......

once i get this figured out then i can hook up tv and then power it up and see what hte problem is........i was going off what my sister said which was that after 10min tv quit working......i agree this is kinda vague. but ihave to fix this connector first i think

Forget about the connector, These olevia sets , the firmware goes corrupt and you can't auto program the atsc tuner any way. Use an hdmi or component input. There probably is a problem with the voltage doubler in the power supply also called PFC.

I agree leave it for now then if the set works with other inputs you can return to the
aerial connector. For what it is worth and its hard to tell from the pictures I dont think the contact you circled earlier goes to the board - I assume you have the top of the Box- I think it will be soldered to that. Check it for solder joint.
There is another "tag" inside the socket which I am guessing is connected to a middle pin on the socket and it is that which should be connected to the board.

ok...thanks for the info.

i will try and post a pic of the power supply .......can someone then point out the voltage double ....is it easy to fix or do ineed to buy a new board?

thanks selldoor I read the tv pdf file. but I did not see anything in the file that talked about the voltage doubler in the power supply.

I am aware of that. I am hoping - possibly against the odds that it is another fault so
you will be able to refer to that pdf and retiredcaps 2 seconds to black guide when asked to do the tests.
We need good clear pictures of the front and back or each board, clear enough to read the part numbers. Here is an example

thanks selldoor for your help. My sister brought the tv here for the holidays and she just left this morning........with the tv........thanks anyway for your help.
