    I think 3kV will be fine there, for 32" panel voltage unlikely to exceed 1.5kV starting, 900V operational.

        Problem solved, It was those two caps, and they were 3kv I took out as well.

          Just repaired an Alba lcd32880hdf. Was puzzled until I read this thread. Replaced c230/c231 3kv, television worked perfectly. Checked for dry joints, seemed ok. Couldn't fault old capacitors in any way, they read same as replacements. Got spare caps off Darfon backlight board,v144. 16 on that board. I would have bought replacement board, hopefully, the p.s.u. board. Thanks vinceroger69.
