Re: Back light problem
Just repaired an Alba lcd32880hdf. Was puzzled until I read this thread. Replaced c230/c231 3kv, television worked perfectly. Checked for dry joints, seemed ok. Couldn't fault old capacitors in any way, they read same as replacements. Got spare caps off Darfon backlight board,v144. 16 on that board. I would have bought replacement board, hopefully, the p.s.u. board. Thanks vinceroger69.Leave a comment:

Problem solved, It was those two caps, and they were 3kv I took out as well.
Many thanks to all that helped.

Re: Back light problem
I think 3kV will be fine there, for 32" panel voltage unlikely to exceed 1.5kV starting, 900V operational.Leave a comment:

Re: Back light problem
When cpc dont have the offer there is also rs components in pontypridd.
and various other places round the uk. Also I mention because I think it has been there forever and I like the name Cricklewood electronics. In Cricklewood
but post is reasonable IF they have what you need - not great stock or maybe just hard to find.Leave a comment:

Re: Back light problem
Can I use 80pf cap instead of the 5pf.

cpc.farnell.com have free delivery from £0.01 and stock Panasonic capacitors.
Maplin capacitors are often worse than originals.Leave a comment:

by sam_sam_samThis happened last Saturday and today I finally had time this morning before I went to work to replace two non brand capacitors
I will let you be the judge weather or not these are bad or not according to the blue ESR meter that I am using
I am comparing them to a brand new one that I installed
The display came back on and the programming was not lost which I was surprised by I would have thought that when the display went blank that so did the memory as well
I going to let it run for several days before I remount back on the wall next to the... -

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

by multimesutHello friends,
A yellow light was flashing on my monitor. It was like it was constantly cutting power. When I opened it up, I saw that the big capacitor in the high voltage line was leaking. I replaced it. When I turned it on for the first time, it had the same problem again. But then, interestingly, it got better. The yellow light was on steady. But the monitor wouldn't turn on. When I examined them with a thermal camera, I saw that the Fli5961-LF reached 50 degrees Celsius and the EM636165TS next to it reached 100 degrees Celsius and was drawing high current on the motherboard....1 Photo-

The owner said it showed bad picture once in a while (attached)
I see that there is back light but no picture.
I want to ask if it is possible to disable the NVIDIA GPU and use the intel one?
Also attached schematic and BDV
