    Alba lcd32880hdf

    hi guys

my latest project seems to be stuck with the standby flashing all voltages seem good until after about 10 secs when they drop to virtually zero unless i disable the main board from the psu then the voltages are fine

main board blown ? or could it be the screen even the backlight does not light up

    thanks

When you say "disable the main board" what do you mean? You can wire on the BL ON/OFF to check backlight.

sorry tom i mean this main cable going to the main board the psu makes a buzzing noise when i first test the voltages but this stops buzzing and the voltages drop pretty fast i have since got another psu but its still the same

These boards are a bit of a bugger because pins # on connector aren't labelled, schematic is here. By tracing grounds you can figure out orientation.
            http://www.tgohome.com/ServiceManual...&Search=Submit

You'll want to check if the 5V standby is always present or not.
If it is, check the PS ON/OFF signal: STBY_ON/OFF.
If that drops out after it tries to turn on, it could be main board at fault.

pin 8 BL_ON/OFF starts at 5v then drops to nothing
pin 6 STBY_ON/OFF starts at 5v then drops to nothing

Do you have steady 5V STBY, pin 14? What about 3.3VSTBY on pin 15, 16?

Looks like your main board is bad. To confirm everything else is OK you can run a wire between STBY 5V to STBY ON/OFF and BL ON/OFF with connector removed from main board end. Backlight should come on, all voltages should be steady.

Just to make sure check you have 24V at inverter and >3V on blue or yellow wires going to inverter.

Is the orange the last wire in sequence or ...? Last wire should be BL ON/OFF. Tap screen lightly, do you see a white spot?

Perhaps DIM need to be connected too, so try connection between BL_ON/OFF and B_DIM (#8 and #10.)

I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

                                          Hello guys,

I have a Philips 240B7QPJEB. The monitor seems completely dead.
I opened it and measured the voltages of the powersupply. I found that a mosfet was dead and replaced it.
On the connector, that goes to the TCON board, all voltages 15-19V and 5V are present.
The small connector on the left of the PSU has two cables with 18V and all the other have 0.2V. It connects on this small connector on the left ontop of the panel. I guess the backlight? Seens fine I guess.
The weird thing is, that the Power LED is powered over the TCON board.
                                          On The TCON...

Help Needed: Samsung UE55MU8000 Dead - Possible Main Board Issue
                                          by Asraf Atb
                                          Hi everyone,

Im looking for some advice regarding my Samsung UE55MU8000 TV with main board model BN94-11606C. The TV suddenly stopped turning on and now shows no signs of life at all not even the standby light at the bottom.

Initially, I suspected an issue with the PSU, so I took it to a repair center. They tested it and confirmed that the PSU works perfectly, even on other TVs. Based on that, I started investigating the main board.

I disconnected the main board from the PSU, and the backlight turned on, which seems to confirm the main board is the issue....

Compatibility of main boards between different variations of samsung MU6100

                                          Hoping someone here could possibly help. I have a few questions in regards to compatibility with main boards. But I'll give a quick short run down on what's going on first;

I have Samsung Smart TV UA65MU6100WXXY version DA01

Now years ago it started intermittently playing up after a lighting strike. Lighting hit the block of units i was living in at the time. Ever since that night the TV started having a mind of its own, It would randomly turn itself off or on, and all inputs stopped responding like HDMI, aerial, but USB still worked. Anyway, over the next few months...
