This my latest recycle find; a nice looking Samsung LCD. When turned on, you get nothing but vertical lines completely across the screen. I haven't opened it yet; any ideas?

Could you please be more precise TOM...Which caps are you referring to? In the power supply area or...? In fact I have a similar problem with annother TV (vertical colored lines all over the screen).Last edited by Ahakim; 12-05-2013, 03:53 PM.

While I am waiting on delivery of some high quality caps I ordered today, I scrounged up some spare parts for a temporary fix. With the capacitors replaced, it starts right up.

I have a similar problem with a Samsung LNS3241. (dark screen, backlight on, several multicolored lines, no menu) I have replaced four capacitors on the upper right of the power board which is BN96-03057A. Output voltages test okay, except for the line to the main board, labeled 24v detect on the schematic. It is only reading about 5 volts. I'm not sure what the "detect" refers to. Any help greatly appreciated.Comment
