Thanks for the responses. It certainly does create a good deal of heat, may have contributed to the cap failure. There was not a brand marking on the ones I replaced. I will look into a permanent cooling solution.
Thanks, I hope so. This model doesn't have a bottom access panel, so I pretty much had to clear the entire case to get at these caps. I don't relish the thought of having to do it again.
I just replaced a couple of caps on a Pioneer VSX-41 that I picked up for free. Now it sounds great, but the cooling fan is not running. Does anyone know if it is supposed to run full-time, or is there a heat threshold that needs to be reached before it is activated?
Re: Samsung LNS3241 no picture, scattered multicolor lines
Sorry, that is all that I currently own.
I have a few defunct boards, but I doubt I can match that part. Looks like that single regulator would be a significant fraction of the cost of a t-con board.
Samsung LNS3241 no picture, scattered multicolor lines
I have a problem with a Samsung LCD TV LNS3241. Current condition: dark screen, backlight on, several multicolored lines, no menu. Utilizing the info in this marvelous forum, I have already replaced four capacitors on the upper right of the power board which is BN96-03057A. The tv now powers up much more quickly, but the picture is unchanged. Any help greatly appreciated.
Re: Samsung LCD TV LNT4061F Vertical Colored Lines
I have a similar problem with a Samsung LNS3241. (dark screen, backlight on, several multicolored lines, no menu) I have replaced four capacitors on the upper right of the power board which is BN96-03057A. Output voltages test okay, except for the line to the main board, labeled 24v detect on the schematic. It is only reading about 5 volts. I'm not sure what the "detect" refers to. Any help greatly appreciated.
