Here's more pics as requested. Yes, the backlight tries to come on twice and only for about a half second now since taking the board out to check connections. The blu led on the power board comes on when the backlight tries to turn on but I don't know what it means.

Voltage readings with tv on are: BL_ON =3.2v, lamp status = 3.4v, dimming signal =1.9v. Looks like something is almost instantaneously shutting off the bulbs as soon as they try to come on but what? BL_ON stays HI and I can't tell anything is wrong coming from the main board. Is there some way to determine it's definitely the power board that's faulty?

It can be that the inverter circuit detect fault such as bad lamp, over current, open lamp, etc., will need more in-depth troubleshooting to narrow down the cause of the problem.

I don't know how to test the bulbs so I tried starting with the readings on thevoltage regulators on the main board but I have no experience with identifying them. I have attached the voltage regulators I identified with their readings on part numbers. Can someone help me identify and tell if these voltage readings are what they should be? I'm trying to narrow down the issue to the board or bulb that's causing the issue. Any help beyond what I've done would be most appreciated!

I'm not sure if this is still an active thread or not but I have the same issue going on. My neighbor gave me this TV (Vizio e3d320vx) and there is sound but no picture. Blank Black nothing. I checked the voltages and that all checks out however I noticed this weird soldering on the TPA3110LD2 25TG4 AYRC chip on the mainboard. Does this odd, like the chip may have burnt out? Thanks for your help in advance. 4 Pictures should be attached.

I've been having this exact same issue and am still searching for the solution. I've uploaded a video of what's happening to youtube (Vizio E3D320VX screen goes blank, audio works: http://youtu.be/w-rmnytFVQU). When it first happened, I was able to get to work again for a while by unplugging the power cord and letting it completely discharge and sit for a few hours. It would work again for a few days, then go blank again. I was able to do this a few times, but now that has no effect. The mainboard was just replaced, but no change. The voltages from the PSU to the MB all check out. The tech at the repair shop I took it to suggested that it may be a fault in the panel and wanted to replace it. To have the panel professionally replaced would cost about $500 including parts and labor. Has anyone tried repairing the panel?

As far as I can tell the capacitors all look good on the PSU and MB. But there may be a bad one that isn't apparent visually.

So, after some more testing, I am sure that there's a faulty component on the power board, but have yet to identify the culprit.

That IC is the Class D power amplifier IC, it uses copper plane of the PCB for heatsink.

I have finally found a replacement power supply and will trythat once I get it and let you know if it works.

Please take the DCV reading on pin 13 (LAMP STATUS) for me when TV is OFF and when TV is working with backlights staying ON, thanks!

I just got one of these today. The screen would flash, then 10 seconds later, would flash again. I looked in my vizio parts and found a power board for a 42" that was very similar. I put it in and the thing turned on. Just for giggles, I found the mainboard for that tv. I put that in and it turned on, it had the older Vizio startup screen. I didnt leave it on to see what the picture looked like. Tv is back together with orig. main and the smps from the 42 and has been runing for 5 hrs now. Hope this "Frankenstien" tv helps someone.

Sorry it's taken so long to reply. The board I had ordered was the wrong size for the TV so I had to wait to find the right one. Finally got one a month or so ago and it has been working ever since.
Budm, I'll have to take some time and get those readings for you later this month. Thanks.
