    Phillips 47pfl3603d/f7 P.S. Caught Fire!

The TV a Phillips 47pfl3603d/f7 was dead, Power Supply # 272217100571.
F101 1 amp 250v fuse was open. I replaced the fuse and R5 a metalized resistor caught fire burning the the paint and slightly burning the board. Resistor reads 118 ohms but there are no longer any colors to veiw. The diodes surrounding R5 were not shorted. I also notice IC101 FSQ 510 was cracked. I tried 3 times to send pics from phone to my email
but the computer can not veiw the pics for some reason. I can not find a free Service Manual or a PS Schematic. Does anyone know where I can download one?
    Thanks

Chassis num of set e.g. Q523.2A? Written on same tag as model number usually.

These PSUs are known to fail rather violently. Here's a repair kit, but I don't know whether it contains all the parts you need: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/190926117173?lpid=82

        Thank You Tom.
I got a manual. It gave good detailed schematic on the Main Board and others
but only a Block Diagrahm of the Power Supply, not what I really needed.
R5 the precision 1% green, yellow, brown, red, brown. The resistor does not show the value and the colors are gone burnt off. All I was going by was a photo of the board at ShopJimmy on the zoom funtion. No Power Supply Schematic! I seeother places on line that sell Service Manuals but some state no Schematics. What a rip off that is.
        Thanks
        Tom

Need chassis number to potentially get you a schematic, without that cannot get you anything...

Ok. Tom I got the chassis # LC8.1U LA. I will try again to send pic from my phone. It burn the board under the Resistor. That can be cut away.

That will happen when you put in a higher rated slow burn fuse with having a bad ic101. Replace ic101 and the resistor(120 ohm),and a new fuse. Touch up all the solder joints on the transformers to prevent fires also. I have seen 4 so far.

Take a pic of u101. It may be a fake.

We offer a repair service for this board and have sometimes found the large mosfets to the lower left side of the board to have shorts. We also have sometimes seen the two large filter capacitors to bulge and leak and cause other parts of the board to malfunction.
I would check all of your transistors on each heatsinks for shorts, check those large filter caps for bulging and leaking, and as mentioned by TVtimmy those U101 might be fake. who did you purchase them from?

You can use a 40 or 60 watt main lines voltage bulb in series in place of the fuse instead and power-up. If there are no shorts, the bulb will light up momentarily and be dim later. if there is a short, the bulb will be lit up bright. at that point, quickly switch off the power to the power-supply board.

iMac A1418 - No LED, no power after overvoltage on Ethernet port
                        by ryogadan78
Hi guys, I need your help again.
I have this iMac from a customer that shut down during a storm along with all the other devices in the house. In particular, the router, connected via Ethernet to the iMac, caught fire.
When I removed the screen from the iMac to check the status of the LEDs, I noticed that none of them were lit. I had a perfectly compatible and working power supply, so I tried it right away, but the problem remained the same (no LEDs). With the thermal camera, I noticed only a slight warming (32 degrees) of the NCP1605BG chip on the power supply. The rest was completely...

                        Hey....

Board as written in description was stuck at VGA LED. common Problem wit these type of bords.... tried all the "standard stuff" like resettin... reseatin.... found out the LED Controller MCU1 = IT8295FN-56A geting burning hot under the last PCI Slot.. now i desoldered it cause there were only 18 ohms at the caps arround.... another aorus x470 in working condition with similar part and nearly same layout had arround 280 ohms...

my question is: why doesnt the board start know without this chip.... worked myself through the boardview but i can“t understand...

JVC Fire TV or any other Android based firmware
                        by jczarniak
                        Hi,

Is there available any Android Fire TV ROM backup ( Fire TV Firmware ) which I can download, save on USB stick and then load into the TV ?

I have got JVC LT-50CF810 Fire TV with firmware not working properly.

Thank you very much for any support.

                        Regards.

10 Amp switch 15 Amp fuse
                        by Eniaro

So, my VEVOR ultrasonic cleaner switch melted.
I contacted VEVOR, they sent me a new one after almost a month of back-and-forth messages.

Over the past few months, I've also replaced switches on heat presses (from various brands) with similar failures. What caught my attention is that the switches are always rated for 10 amps, but the fuses are always for 15 amps. this mismatch?

I've started to second-guess my knowledge. Everything I've researched says exactly what's happening to these switches.
This issue hits far too close to home. I'm concerned...

Vaio DA0HK1MB6E0 MBX-247 Burning any EC
                        by ignacio.ino27
                        Hello to all.

I have this Sony Vaio QUANTA HK1 DA0HK1MB6E0 MBX-247 that is burning the NUVOTON EC when you connect it to power supply.

                        1) The +3vpcu line is going to a direct short after connecting the motherboard to power supply.
                        2) I discovered the EC NUVOTON was shorted. After removing it the short gone out on that line (+3vpcu) but... (If i quit the EC the 3.3v are pressent on +3vpcu because the shorted component was quited)
                        3) There were no shorts after soldering the new EC NUVOTON. But after connecting the board to power supply the EC keeps burning...
