Re: Help with a Sharp LC-60LE835U

So, definitely an led problem. Looks like led # 1, 2, and 3 are burnt. Now would it make more since to replace the whole strip, or just the burnt led's...looks like theres a slight burn mark near led #5 so that may have caused it. not sure. But where cold I get something like this. ether just the leds, or whole strip?

    Thanks so far guys

Thats interesting to say the least. A chain reaction of some.type. current goees up and the draw from each led goes higher thus taking them out one by one. Look for rubbing from the panel ground. Id replace the strip if possible.

I dibt know if its legal on this forum to say websites but il pm you.
Did I leave the soldering iron on?

Re: Help with a Sharp LC-60LE835U

My experience with these edge lit LEDs is that there are usually 'sections' on each strip that are hooked in series. In other words you may have 30 LEDs on one strip with 5 sections of 6 LEDs that are hooked in series. So basically if you loose 1 LED in that section, then the other 5 go out too. Regardless, I'd agree and replace the whole strip. Especially with that burn mark.

Now the fun part is finding that whole strip....seems to be a rare thing for this big of a tv....im still scouring the interwebs though.

I have two of these sitting at the house with broken screens. Wonder if there's any chance the strips are the same? Or at least the individual LEDs.

Give me a part number off the strip. I'll look when I get home this evening.

Theres a couple of them that i could find theres a sticker on the back:
              5028ZZ
              1625CH
              B01975
              1Y360B

and then on the front I have: SLED2011SSP60_60_GD_REV0

For whats its worth I also have a 1f19 after the 30th LED printed on the board

Its about 26 and 3/4 long with 60 led's split into 2 phases of 30 leds each

EDIT: does anyone know what wattage these LED's are.

Ok, so it's one continuous strip the entire way across the front? No way the 50" is going to match if that's the case but I guess maybe the individual LEDs might. I'll have a look regardless. It'll be late this evening though before I have time.

No, its two strips of 60 led's each, one strip on the left side and one strip for the right. The one on the left is what i need, and the strip is about 26.75" long including the power connector.

No go on the strips. These are on the side and only about 11" long. LEDs look different too.

You may, for a brief test, be able to substitute each blown LED with a 1N4001 diode.

I had a similar problem on a Vizio 32" LED E320i-A0, the 4 LED stripe inside had about 8 LED per stripe and some was burn out or open. I try to find an replacement LED's from Mouser since no one at the time was selling the LED stripes from a crack screen. After I replace all 32 LEDs the TV power on and its did work but the replacement wasn't as bright as the original.

I knew that was a possibility because I didn't know the spec of the original LEDs

about a week later some on ebay had listed the LED stripe I needed. So I brought them

I used this in a Sharp LC-60LE810 it's listed as PN:LEDKIT60LE8X// maybe this might help with your issues

Therr are really quite a few options out there as long as yo u can match the impedance. What im finding is as long as the doner strip has the same amount.of leds and the voltages match the led will work.

I finally found the correct part number, apparently sharp made a service manual just for the lcd panel, which I didn't have at the time. So found the official part number, searched google and found the only place thats selling them and bought it at $72 a pop....not cheap. Apparently it has to be special ordered, so it wont get here for about 2 weeks. Thank you everyone so far that has helped.

Do keep the broken strip though, you could salvage the LEDs for future repairs.

Will do.....but lets hope this doesn't happen again. I Think the part number was for both sides of the strip...at least that what it looked like in the manul...didnt have individual sides....jut top and bottom....and both top and botom are the same part number. And on the order description it said 60" led strip....So i may replace the whole bottom. and save the old ones.

Re: Help with a Sharp LC-60LE835U

So......I may have done a stupid thing......This backlight is on special order and am told could be up to 3 weeks before I get it. So i tried plugging in my tv without the led strip, it lit up for about 30 secs, and the went out with the 1-1 error....thought no problem, when i get the new one it will come back(this thought was before i would later find out it would be 3 weeks) so once finding out it was going to be 3 weeks, I just said while im waiting il plug in the old one and use it till the new on comes in.....well i cant get this 1-1 error to go away with the old let strip plugged in.

I have tried every reset combination out there (Vol-/Menu/plugging in, Vol+/Chan-/plugging in, Vol-/plugging in, Input/Vol-/plugging in) and so far nothing. This all from the buttons on the tv its self, which are btw touch sensitive. Iv done some reading on line, and a couple op other posts say that i need a new main board.....but i don't believe that since i plugged in without an led it would blow my main board...at least id hope not.

The service manual was no help...tells me to clear it out in the "monitor process" what ever that is...also the manual makes some references to "process A" and "process adjustment remote control".

So is there anything I haven't tried?......I really hope I just didn't blow my main board.

There's only one fuse that I can see and its on the power board, and looks alright. Also when plugging in the old main board (the 3-1 error one) I can hear the relays clicking on and off just like before. So I think the power board is ok.
