Vizio VX552XVT Screen Flashing on and off

I have a Vizio VX552XVT and I recently started hearing clicking sounds from the power supply board. It is a constant clicking noise and it makes the picture flicker on and off repeatedly. There is a red led light that flashes on the backlight inverter board as well. When the picture stays out the red light on the inverter board stays lit. The more and faster it clicks, the more the picture flashes and more likely the screen will go black. Does this mean my power supply board is going bad? I visually inspected it and dont see any blown caps. What do in need to determine where the problem lies?

Does the problem occur immediately upon power on, or only as the set warms up?

Does the flickering get worse over time slowly, or is it more or less constant until it finally fails?

It seems like it will flicker until it gets better or goes black. The sound stays on though.

OK, do you have a digital multimeter?

Re: Vizio VX552XVT Screen Flashing on and off

There is a signal the main board produces called BL ON, ON/OFF, ... it will tell the backlight inverter/LED driver to light the panel. If it is changing rather than being steady, it is the main board that is at fault, whereas if it is static it is the power board, inverter board or LED board.

OK. Is it labeled on the main board or do you have a schematic. If not I will send you a picture.

It will usually be labeled on one of the boards, if not it can usually be figured out from how the inverter board circuit is laid out. Yes pictures would help greatly. A cheap digital multimeter will be all you need. Do not get an analogue meter.

OK I am going out to get the digital multi meter now. I will have to disassemble the TV again to test the voltages and will post back with my results. Thank you so much for the help and quick responses!

Is it Vizio VF552XVT, not Vizio VX552XVT?
I cannot find VX, here is the VF POWER SUPPLY. Is this the one you have?

Sorry i took so long but here we go. Here are some pics if you can direct me as what to test. When it is flashing the power board voltages vary going out but seem to be steady on the main board. What part exactly needs to be tested as i dont know where the BL on/off circuit is. Thanks again. And the power boerd in the link posted earlier is the same as mine.

we need to be able to read the individual labels next to each pin. If you can't get your camera to take a good photo there please list off the labels directly.
