Samsung smart tv: Model:UN46D6003SFXZC doesnot turn on

I turn on the tv, it doesnot turn on and there is no any led indicating signal on the TV. totally black screen. I opened the tv and verify the powersupply board and there is no any bad capacitors. Also i disconnect the cable coming from the main board to power supply, then the backlight on and off every 10 seconds. can anyone help me to troubleshoot this tv Please. I have basic knowledge of electronic and I am eager to troubleshoot this TV.

Well I would start with voltage checks from power supply to main board. sounds like a main board issue but don't jump to conclusions yet. Are you getting 5v standby?

thanks for the reply. i measure the voltage at the cable goes to main board. the 5VDC is not stable. when i measure 5.3V display then goes to 2.3V then 0V. i measure again it starts 5.3V then 2.2v and 1.3 voltage. also the pin 9 should give 12.8V (Vamp:12.8V), but i got 0V.

Are you sure your meter is set to DC volts? Sometimes Meters set to AC do dhis! Don't ask how I know!!

Did you measure the STBY 5V right, not the Reg_5V.

hi tom66, using your service manual, i found the standby voltage Pin (pin 4) and it should be 5VDC. However when i measure at that pin, it reads 5.3V, 4.2,1.2,4.1,5.3,2.5 so on.... it does not stable voltage. it keeps change to lower voltage then come back to 5.3V and repeat same thing. also i did
Forced Backlight -On Mode:
1.Disconnect Power Cord
2.Disconnect wire harness from CN201
3.Re-Connect Power Cord
4.LED Backlight should immediately turn on
However the backlight turn on after few second and turn off immediately and repeat on and off. it does not turn on continuously.

That is because the PS_ON, BL_ON line have the pull-up resistors that getting the voltage from the standby power supply, since the stby power supply output is jumping around so that is why the backlights are turning on and off. You need to fix the standby power supply. It may have bad start up cap in the stby power supply section.

ok budm, I'll check that and post it. I hope I can find that.... can you tell me how can I figure out the capacitor is bad, if that did not bulge/leak.

The caps may not show any sign of bulging, ESR meter and cap meter will be required. At this point we need to locate the standby power supply section first and see how it is hooked up. I will see if Tom has the diagram for this TV.
No, he does not have it on his web site.
Can you take straight shot pictures of the board, not @ an angle, of both top and bottom side in 4 sections, and the whole bottom side.

I check the service manual and my power supply board details.... in the service manual says that standby pin 4 and when I look for the pin details of the connector it says A5V_PW. also I checked the power supply board, it details: it mention that pin 14 (A5V). is it same thing? or different pin that I am checking.

The A5V may mean Always on 5V, same as Standby which is there the minute the TV is plugged into the AC outlet.
Pin 4 should have steAdy 5VDC.

so i can track the 5V from A5V connector pin to the 5v chip. am i right? that pin (pin14) also does not stable 5V, it always move up and down as 3.3,2.1,1.4,4.3,so on....

i will try to track today.

It's very overpriced for what it does. You can get much better ones for much, much less.
