    Vizio VA26LHDTV10T

    Hello everyone!

I have had this Vizio for a while now, but I haven't been using it for almost a year? When I first got the TV, it was working fine, a few months in and I started seeing a blue vertical line at about 1/4 of the screen. I did nothing about it though, I even had warranty then... Some months later, way after the warranty, the screen is now in the condition that it is now.

There is no sound indication, I have tried to check with my computer and cable, but nothing. The screen starts off grey and then slowly changes to blue, but when I hit the menu button on the side, the top right corner changes green, at what seems to be the default channel indicator, such as AV/HDMI. After that, it just turns blue and has some vertical lines in the center and one on the left. The far left vertical line is the one that first showed up a while ago.

I have opened the TV up and taken some pictures, hopefully of some good quality. I have checked to see if any of the capacitors have gone bad, but I couldn't find any. I don't know what it can be.

Let me know if you need a better picture of a certain location on the TV.

I also took a video of the TV as I turn it on, I AM SORRY ABOUT THE QUALITY, my upload speed is not fast and I did not want to upload a video that was going to take a long time.

I removed the white strip from the mobo and when I turn it on, the screen is white. I'm sure you know which white strip, but if not, it's the one visible in images 3 and 4.

Actually, I think it may be that strip? I removed it and my screen turns white, no color distortion or anything like that, just white, which I then figure that it can't be the panel? I put back the strip and turned it on, the picture was a little bit clearer and I could actually see the top right of the screen where it says what channel it's on, a few seconds later, a blue pop up showed up saying, "No signal," the message was clear as day, but then it froze...

        Could it be that strip?

That is the LVDS cable which supply the signals and power to the T-CON board on the LCD panel assembly, when you remove that cable, the T-CON will not have power to drive the LCD, that is why the screen is just glow.

Well, I ended up removing the glue/tape that was on the cable, which had folded two corners. I removed it and turned on the TV and it worked. It was the cable all this time... For now, I will leave it as is, but if the problem comes back or something else, I will buy a new cable and go from there.

You think I could get redirected to a site that sells the LVDS cable? I've been searching and I cannot find any, I also checked some stores around town and nothing.

This is what it says on the ribbon:

I've had this effect on some Chimei V260B1 panels. Different TV but fix may still apply:

                  Failure Symptom

No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

                  Where is the short?

Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

Vizio E70-E3 Two white vertical lines
                  by brad2157
I picked up a Vizio E70-E3 for free that shows Vizio logo and then goes to a black screen. Original owner said he started having wifi issues and then he tried to reset the TV and that's when it wouldn't boot up any longer after his reset attempt. I picked up a replacement main board from eBay that matches the same model # board as the original from the TV.

Original main board - Shows Vizio logo when TV powers on, then goes to black screen. Doesn't boot up. No screen issues with any lines on start up Vizio logo.

Replacement main board - Boots up fine, but starting...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                  by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                  Assuming...
