Reload the board?? Yeah the first picture is my WDTV box plugged in. The ebay seller insists that is is the lcd or tconn but it cannot be if the old board functions perfectly in the tv. just dies after a few minutes.

? put in the firmware. Actually try the same with the old board too.

Ive been looking but unable to find the firmware for this tv. maybe you can help? KDL-52W3000

I was going by the 5100.... looks like the 3000 can't be updated :-(

possibly a bad card still since different inputs have similar issues yet internally generated characters look ok.

What was input on the hdmi in the second picture?

second picture is of when the screen should be black. tried to take it while in between sources, which is why its a little blurry. When its trying to pickup a source it looks like the first picture

just did a little more testing. used my chromecast so i knew video would be playing. this is what i got.

Screen was solid green and there was no audio

show us a picture with the old board installed... try and use some test pattern for a display, it will make things a lot easier. The fact that you have no audio with the new card isn't good. Having said all this, having you actually checked the voltages at the various places to ensure that things are "good"?

With the old board installed the tv functions perfectly. just completely dies after a random amount of time.

I could test voltages if I knew what voltages should be where

I have this Bravia come in. I do mostly caps and computer repair.
When I turn on the screen is funky then goes clear after a fe minutes.
See attached pics.
Before I order a tcon I want to make sure i am not casting pearls before swines.

I have seen this symptom before due to bad panel.
