Samsung UN46C5000QF (No Picture - Sound Working - Backlight Working)

Hi Guys,

Hope you can help with my issue, I can use a meter and soldiering is not an issue.

I have a Samsung UN46C5000QF that has sound and no picture. I have attached a picture of the T Con board and the backlight working. If you need anymore pictures let me know

I turned the TV off this morning when I left for work this morning and it was working fine & when I got home this afternoon I turned it on like normal and it makes the Samsung Boot Noise and i can hear the sound from the cable box or the xbox360. I can't see anything but i can turn it up and switch inputs.

FP1 fuse it's good?

The fuse @ FP1 is good.

I have attached a few more pics for you.


Please help if you have anymore ideas, which board do you think is causing the issue?

I also noticed that there is no red light in the optical port when tv is powered on.

Edit: The red light comes on for 1 second at boot.


Not sure if this matters or not, just noticed that on my other tv's the red light stays on.

Unplug T-con and see if red light stays on.

It does the same thing with t-con unplugged, only comes on for 1 second at boot.

You're getting sound continuously, I missed that. I'd swap the T-con, if not, it may be a panel problem. Unlikely, though not impossible, to be a main board issue.

Tom, I have ordered a tcon & a main board because i found them both for $100 shipped but i would still like to figure out whats wrong. Do you have any suggestions?

Swap t-con in first; if that fails, then swap in the main board, if it works, you know t-con was the only problem.
