    Re: Rca l42wd22 audio problems

If you hook up the powered speakers to the Auido line level output RCA RED/WHITE jacks, do you get the distorted sound there also? We need to find out if the problem is in the sound processing/ preamp/ or power amp section.

          Re: Rca l42wd22 audio problems

Would you say it's very similar to what comes out of the speakers? It sounds like either power supply bad (low voltage to audio processor, possibly main board voltage regulator fault) or bad audio processor IC.

its weird i go into rca sound menu to set maxium volume , menu says to hold the ok button to test maxium volume and amp kicks in and internal speakers work, seems like sound gets better as tv warms or i power on and off tv ,

                Re: Rca l42wd22 audio problems

The bad cap could easily cause that. Have you checked the supply voltages coming from the PSU? e.g. a low or unstable 5V or 12V might cause this.

Have you checked other power supply voltages too, like 5V and 24V?

Perhaps new fuse has failed again?

top fuse reads good , repair man that did mod , put too much solder on top, cant tell if he got it good on bottom.
