    sony kdf-46e2000 problem

I am visiting my great grandfather and his Sony has a a yellow sploch that covers most of the screen and a thin red bar across the top of the screen. This is a rear projection/DLP tv and he has already had the lamp replaced.
I have salvaged and fixed 18 TVs (1 DLP), 22 LCD monitors, 8 stereos, network stuff, and more laptops and computers than i can count.

optical block assembly (light engine) is bad. You can get a new TV for half the price to fix this one.

If I were to find another DLP at the dump would parts be interchangeable

If the model numbers match, then yes..... but keep your fingers crossed that the optical block is good in the "dumped" one.

These are notorious for this type problem.

        Good luck! =P
