    PHILIPS 50PFP5532D-05 Image Issue

    Hey Guys,

Another one to tax the brains! Just started one day to give a picture as per the attached image, sorry it was taken on my phone as the TV is at my friends house and is soo heavy we decided to leave it alone till we know if we can fix it.

The sound is fine, all connections externally have been checked.

Bad digital board. Does it affect all menus and all inputs?

So, the lines cover the menus on the display?

I have spoken to my friend and yes you get the same image when you select the TV menu and also if you plug it into an analogue aerial.

Hi Tom66 and all you other great guys,

Any thoughts on this Plasma? what ever you select you get this banding over the whole screen. Just wondered if any of you have seen this before and if so can you suggest a part to order? Its just my friend is getting ear ache from his girlfriend as the TV is on the floor as it is sooo heavy and difficult to put back up, he doesnt want to put it back up till hopefully it can be fixed

It is a control board issue. Only way to be sure of the part is to open it up.

Your camera, to take pictures of the chassis. Everything is working apart from those lines, so it's not going to be a PSU issue.

                      Here's the control board.
Can you remove the main board frame, and get a closer shot of it?

PS - It's extremely cold in Leeds.

                          See pic.

                          Power OFF and unplugged.

Place HDD setting jumper across pins 3-4 of the 4 pin block CN2007. A piece of bent wire works too.

Disconnect LVDS, the glued connector, at the main board end (not on the control board... the glue will make it a nightmare.)

                          Power ON normally.

Test patterns should appear. Do the lines cover the test patterns?

                          If YES: Control board 100%.
If NO: Main board 95% or Control Board.

Just did as you suggested and the banding was still there. So guess that proves control PCB, just go to find one now.

If I were to guess a particular fault on the control board I would say a problem with the RAM or BGA bondings on the processor. I note it is around £50 from several suppliers.

Hi everyone. First new thread here. I picked up a TV on the side of the road. It appears to function correctly with the exception of an image issue I'm unable to describe. I've searched for “double picture” and “double image” all over the web and all I get is repair videos for when the picture is blurry and the connections are getting interference between the display panels and the t-con board. I believe this is a t-con board issue, but I haven't found anything telling me conclusively that this is where my issue is. I'd appreciate any assistance you can provide. I live a pretty busy life...

                                          Hi

                                          Asking for a friend.

I'm used to black vertical line in otherwise good image - probable solution is a rubber to push and tighten the COFs bonding.
but here its the opposite !

TV has new T-con = same issue
A missing panel voltage would have global effect

So , what should one do ? how can I find where the fault is ?

                                          Thanks !...

                                          Hello everyone,

First of all, please excuse me as I'm quite new to this field.

I have a Philips 55PUS6804/12 TV. It turns on and off instantly (backlight flash). I personally think it's a backlight issue (faulty LEDs). Could you help me confirm my diagnosis?

I've checked and the T-CON seems to be fine. I disconnected one ribbon cable at a time at the bottom, but the problem persists.
The Ambilight works perfectly and stays on.

                                          No sounds.

                                          Thanks in advance.

Hi, my TV image started showing those lines and the image faded away, but sound is still coming from it, what could be the cause and is it fixable? I thought it could be the tcon board but I red on the internet that it could be a failing panel
