    Test point and adjustment pot locations Sanyo DP50747

    Just picked this set up today. Supposedly, it wouldn't turn on. No LED, nothing. I Googled it and saw other instances of the same issue so I took a chance. Just got the back off and the A/C plug was disconnected. UH-OH. I reconnected the plug, crossed my fingers, and hit the button. To my surprise, it came to life. There are sparklies and a little bit of image retention, but all in all, it's not the end of the road for this set.

    I've looked through the service manual for test points and adjustment pots but there's nothing to see. Scanning the boards, I am able to see the Va, Ve, and Vs test points and pots but I can't find Vscan's test point to save my life.

    Measured voltage first, label voltage in ()
    Va = 63.5V (Good 63V)
    Ve = fluctuates slightly 93.2 to 94.2 (Good 94V)
    Vs = 207V (Good 207V)

    I think I've found the Vscan adjustment pot (circled in red below), but without the test point, I don't know what it's doing. In another post Tom66 helped me out in, he mentioned Yrr and Yfr, I found Yfr adjust and test (yellow circle below) but no Yrr. I did however find Yset but I don't know what it is. I'll post better pics of the Y-sus in a second.

            Bottom of board. I see a note for Vscan, but I don't see a test point.

              Red sparklies on a Sammy: I usually find adjusting Yfr fixes those.

                Thanks for the help Tom. I adjusted Yfr and it took care of the sparklies. Yset took care of the image retention.

                  So I still don't know the original fault. Just a loose power connector? You got lucky...

                    I'm hoping so. So far the only down side is this thing is so big, I can't carry it to the basement by myself so it sits on the floor in the dining room.

                      I'm hoping that the previous owner noticed the sparkles and image retention, thought the panel was going bad, and intentionally unplugged the power to the PSU to pull a fast one. If this thing is fixed, I guess the joke's on him.

                        I need to sort out a dolly or other jig to carry TVs upstairs, as my room will now be on the first floor when I move in. (Plus I have to get the 46" on the wall, and find a 61" to fit in the home cinema.... which is in the basement.)

                          How Can I test PWM DM0365R?
                          by chth96
                          Hello
                          I have power adaptor(220V/input, 12V 1.2A/output) which has symptom of fluctuating output DC voltage between 11.5V-12.2V.
                          So I opened its plastic case and when switched it on, I heard constant tik tik sound from inside its PCB.
                          I measured DC voltage between negative and positive pin of the largest capacitor(400v 10uf) and it was measured contant 300V.
                          I also measured ESR value of all capacitors and I noticed that one of capacitor(KMG 16v 470uf), which located in the secondary side, have high ESR value(10 ohm),So I replaced it with same specification NXH capacitor....

                          by Mark R
                          I am not ashamed to say this is my first FM alignment I have ever done. I am well versed in electronics and repair. Been doing it for many years on Pro Audio Live sound equipment. Worked on Power amps EQ's musical gear and Large format Mixing Live consoles Etc. But now I can see this is a whole different world when it comes to tweaking this kind of gear. I do have the proper gear like the SENCORE SG 80 and HP Generators and Scopes Etc.

                          Look below at Adjustment 12:8. The Null adjustment. I have a Heathkit IM-28 VTVM that was rebuilt and has new Burned in tubes that I used for this...

                          test active pfc power with lamp test
                          by khelane
                          Hello
                          I have a big problem and that is that in some cases when repairing active pfc power supplies I cannot work with a test lamp. I can only get help with 5 volts standby and for starting and starting I have to work without a lamp and this way there is a possibility of parts exploding and other parts being added.
                          Sometimes with a multimeter test the problems can be reduced to some extent, but I had several cases that had to be tested on and online and recently two varistors exploded. They had terrible resistance because the power supplies were over 800 watts.
                          Is there a way...

                          Mats / mods: detected and repaired GPU fault. Cant seem to test after!
                          by chronic519
                          Hello.

                          GPU came in, green lines. Spent lots of time using to get the Mats / mods drive working (found on youtube).
                          Found issue with a RAM block
                          Replaced, green lines gone.
                          Trying to test again, assuming getting the false positive. Originally had over 1K on a single bank. Now getting tosses low between banks.
                          Used a good card to test and same results low errors 32+.

                          I am just search for some form of command to do a full test on the GPU.
                          I just ran the mats command with my good GPU and passed after roughly 40 min.
                          The repaired one, ran...

                          Lg TCon test pins for screen test
                          by alltvrepairs
                          Hi,
                          i have a 65 Panasonic TX-65HX710E using vestel 17MB170 main and Lg tcon.

                          Few drops of water fell probably near COF and have no display. Tried removing tabs but no.part of display present as if tcon fuse open. However 12v is present and tcon can be felt warm enough that supplies are present. Backlight and sound ok.

                          Anyone knows if this TCon 6870c-0805A has any special test pins for rgb test?

                          Appreciate your help....
