nevermind either way same result...
so its looking like main board which i initially thought but dont wanna spend $100 on a used board that would have me at $140 into this tv that i can maybe sell for $200

so if i can repair this main board that would be awesome

ok well I ordered a main board off ebay it came in today i installed and tv came to life so looks like blinking red light issue is more of a main board problem

I can confirm the exact same symptoms on the same model of TV and the same fix of buying a new board.

One additional interesting note: if I left the TV on long enough, the main board would eventually boot up and the TV would work normally for as long as it was left on. Once it was turned off again (and it would turn off normally, even responding to the remote), it could be turned back on (with switch or remote) immediately. BUT, the longer it was shut off, the longer it would take to turn back on.

I told ShopJimmy's tech about this additional symptom and they said their EEPROM replacement service would likely NOT fix the bad board, so I just bought a like-new main board off of ebay, which of course fixed the problem right away.

A second note of interest: I can confirm that the damage to the main board was done by failing 1000uF capacitors in the power supply.

I just finished fixing this exact set with the exact same symptoms by changing C102 and C131 on the main board. For future readers, follow user budm's instructions here.
