    Akai LCT2060 LCD TV

I could use a little help with this one. I'm trying to keep this little 20" TV out of the land fill. I have found a couple of rare main board replacements for about 50 bucks but don't want to pop it in with no fix or blow up a new replacement because something else is still amiss.

Odd little Akai LCT2060 LCD TV (NT182_V02 Main Board) that won't come on and has no standby LED lit. Power in is supplied by a 12V 4A ac adapter and tests at 12.3 vdc. I did meter 4.8 vdc across the power switch. Nothing when pressing the switch.

Visual inspection gives no apparent indication of bad electrolytic caps. None bulged or exploded. Electrolytic caps are G-Luxon (China o'course) 5X10mm, 1000uf, 16v, 85c. I would likely replace them on this board or a replacement board before putting it back together.

Does the supply test at 12.3vdc under load?
Does it have a led and does it stay lit when plugged into the TV

In as much as it is connected to the TV ... yes it's under load. It will run a security dvr that requires the same adapter okay and I have swapped adapters out for each other. They both work okay in this case.

There is no LED lit when connected to the adapter.

      Thanks.

Lets check all the fuses and the LDO (Low Drop Out, 3-pin)voltage regulator ICs.
Please read the link below my signatur on how to test the LDO and report the readings in the format as shown in the link.

These three, F1 and F2 on the mainboard and the smd on the inverter board, are good. I also have a 10x loop I have used to examine the board. Have not noticed any other fuses.

                Thanks.

Good - Plugged in and switched on? -On the left hand connector on the controller board Pic4 can you test the voltage on each pin - Meter on vDC20 black probe on a ground screw red probe on each pin.
Please post result with pin description off the board.

Duty calls. I will have to finish the LDO checks later this evening or tomorrow.
                    I'll post when completed.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:

                          by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...
