Re: 40" Sony LCD KDL-40EX500 Seconds to black (6 blinks)
According to my calculations it should give 25.6V and 12.6V... which is still pretty high.
I put it into a little two-transistor power supply. At least the values are close enough so they're probably accurate, my power supply design is different any may regulate differently.
(W scale = volts for 12V)
This should be the correct category:

Just select the right resistance value.

Yep its connected to the 12V output.Leave a comment:

Re: 40" Sony LCD KDL-40EX500 Seconds to black (6 blinks)
It's probably the 12V output plane. See if it has continuity to the positive terminal of the 12V caps, or output.Leave a comment:

But no 12V coming into feedback? I expect both rails to be involved in the feedback.Leave a comment:

Makes a lot more sense - does 24V come into the feedback at all?Leave a comment:

That seems a bit more realistic; does one of the leads of the TL431 go to the middle of that divider?Leave a comment:

We need to draw out a schematic of this section, can you do that, or do you need help?Leave a comment:

I still don't know if I believe those values - 963 ohm parallel is very low for 24V feedback.Leave a comment:

Re: 40" Sony LCD KDL-40EX500 Seconds to black (6 blinks)
Ok, so all five resistors?
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...5&d=1359830813
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...6&d=1359831625
thats 102, 123, 752, 183, 564
1000 ohms, 12000 ohms, 7500 ohms, 18000 ohms, and 560000 ohms
Just wondering, since its outputing the wrong voltages, is there any way to force and drop the voltage down by only 1 volt just to get it working?Leave a comment:

Re: 40" Sony LCD KDL-40EX500 Seconds to black (6 blinks)
Yes, if it is just a number, that is a power of ten, otherwise, you need to use the table.
I suggest you replace all of them to eliminate any doubt.Leave a comment:

Yeah, these two:
https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...6&d=1359831625
theres 3 numbers on the resistors, I just thought the 3rd number on it says how many zeros correct?Leave a comment:

Re: 40" Sony LCD KDL-40EX500 Seconds to black (6 blinks)
Precision thin film resistors, "102" or 1000 ohms and "123" or 12000 ohms. thanksLeave a comment:

Get me the values of them, using the previously linked chart, and then I can find the appropriate part or category for each.Leave a comment:

by maudaI'm currently working on repairing a malfunctioning Sony TV model KD-65XE7005 with the mainboard 1-981-926-21. I would appreciate your assistance with this issue.
Upon powering on the TV, the Sony logo appears for approximately 3 seconds, after which the backlight remains lit, the screen remains black, and nothing else happens. The TV consumes around 55W initially and then drops to 35W. The indicator LED remains solid white. It doesn't respond to the remote control. When attempting to update the TV using a USB dongle, the dongle briefly flashes but nothing else happens.

by tec3000Hi community! Germany calling
I am wondering if you guys can help me out. I have an issue with my Sony LED TV. I've been told this is a good place to ask. Thanks for anyone who will reply and offer advice. Appreciated!
I have a KD-65X9005A Sony 4k LED TV. For a few weeks I've got this problem where I turn on the TV and within a few seconds the TV starts getting darker until it shuts itself off and I get the 4 blinking error code. HOWEVER there is one exception: Whenever I switch to the i-Manual, a full screen on-screen instruction manual, the TV never turns off. I tested for hours!... -
by AK_777Hi everyone!
I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.
Based on assumptions, the previous service attempted to solve the issue by replacing potentially faulty components. I decided to investigate further, found a service manual, and figured out a way to power up the power supply unit autonomously and put the OLED panel and... -
by jchonHi I'm new to trying to repair TVs, but I saw a broken OLED offered for a reasonable price and thought I'd try my hand at it.
I found the service manual, which was critical to know where to probe.

With it I was able to determine that my DKA board was bad, when P_ON#1/2 gets enabled REG_12 on the DKA board collapses. I'm assuming one of the downstream regulators has a short, but I couldn't work out which rail/component and replaced the DKA board entirely.
Unfortunately the 5-blinks... -
by NicktronicHi all,
I have the subject TV and it will work normally sometimes but suddenly go black and give the 2 red blinks blink code. When this happens, I check the power supply board voltages and all I have is the Standby 3.3V and BL_ERR 2.2V. When it's working normally, all power supply board voltages look normal and stable. I've checked the backlights with a tester and they all test good. I've also read that the 2 red blinks is a faulty power supply board, so could it be throwing up an erroneous BL_ERR?
Any Sony experts out there that can help??... - Loading...
