This is a common problem with this panel. The cause is a bad logic board. It is situated behind the main board. It is usually bad solder joints on the main processor and the resistor packs and buffer chips along the bottom of the board. The processor is BGA and will need to be reflowed. You can purchase a new logic board but they are fairly expensive ($80-$100) and the 6871qch038C is prone to this problem. The 6871qch060q is an updated version but it is almost impossible to find new. Replacing either of these with a used board will cause the "sparklies" which LG Panels are notorious for.
