Wharfedale LCD47F1080p marks on inside screen

Hi All just picked this up and it appears to have some kind of stain on the back of the screen that the backlights pickup as if something has been spilt on it,apart from this it all good.So my problem is how much of a job is it going to be to get to clean this up and any tip on how not to muck it up? I tried to take photos but the marks wont show up. thanks

It should be easy to take apart, TV's usually are compared to monitors. Try messing with some camera settings to try and pick it up in a picture, try with flash off, macro mode, etc

I did try all the setting on my camera but they all failed to pick it up, its not bad just annoying starts at the top of the screen to about midway down in three places, the set is covered in dust and this happened after the guy moved and the set was left in storage. I think with all the dust that maybe it was raining when he moved, I will take photos when i pull it apart more for me so it all goes back the way it should, Any help on striping the panel would be gratefully received

You will need a room as dust free as possible -even then you will get some dust in. Read up on it before you do it - if you are keeping the set and can put up with it it may be better than dust.

Thanks selldoor for pointing me over to youtube it seems this is a common fault and it is the polarizing film that wrinkles in the back of the screen. someone on there said to try an ice pack over the screen to shrink it back, oh well ill try anything once if not i will pull it apart.

I have found loosening the screws to reduce the effect and also dropping the backlight a little.

Some tvs backlights cant be lowered.

If its been in storage for a while it might have been a little damp, and the damp could of carried some of the dust in between the film layers.

Not sure how possible that is though.

Take apart and clean it, make sure its perfect before putting back together, even a little strand of hair will be visible at certain angles.
Do NOT touch heatsinks when testing for voltages as they may be LIVE!

                  Access code for Vestel

                  Menu then 4 7 2 5
Backlight is under picture settings config. 255 is dimmest, 0 is brightest on most Vestels.
