Usually the tab bond faults get worse progressively, but there have been reports of sudden failures due to tab bonds. I recommend you try and eliminate it. Also, can you post pictures of inside your TV? Perhaps there is another board that can cause this. Unlikely, though.Leave a comment:

thanks for so much help, but for info i was WATCHING TV(using as a monitor connected to my laptop thru VGA port, it was running smooth) n suddenly withOUT any physical contact or any thing, black part appeared from right to half and then full black and boom it was gone forever.
so the summary is it was working perfect and running smooth and next moment it was at fault!
what could be the culprit?

Yes, it is quite possible you have a bad tab bond.

i originally had vertical lines with audio, but same results after replacing TCON!
Please help!

Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed... -

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the... -
Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.
I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.
I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

i order a t-con because i had bad colors on my SONY KDL-40V3000 :
With the new t-con the color are good but there are vertical lines on all the screen :
I've tried the old t-con and it returned to the initial issue (bad colors but no vertical lines)
Is there a way to fix the vertical lines on the new t-con ?

Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...
