I have been working on a Vizio M550sv LED TV that someone's child spilled formula on. There was a grey line down the center of the screen. It was spilled on the top so it had ran down the entire length. At the bottom of the screen, after I disassembled it, I cleaned up all the formula with alcohol. The grey line went away. The first buffer in line for the right side of the screen gets super hot. After putting it all back together I noticed that the screen had almost no response when a picture was on. Very very slow. almost 15-20 seconds for the picture to change. I have no idea where to go from here. Any ideas?

Re: Vizio M550sv LED Tv slow picture
If the IC gets really hot, it is probably bad (possibly damaged during cleaning or originally), and it is not replaceable.

Bonded into plastic and fused at the factory. You'd have to find a new IC (bare silicon), connect all the bond wires to the flex using a precision laser-soldering machine, then bond the tab to the LCD.
Have a spare $10 million for the equipment? Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!
