    Panasonic TH42PD50U no power.

Hello, I am hoping someone can help a beginner troubleshoot this TV. I already fixed the TV by replacing the P-board, but I want to get better at testing electronics and not swapping boards. So I now have this broken P-board and also a working P-board that I am able to test on. I would like to fix this broken board without referring to the working board because I am not always going to have this advantage.

Here is the background. Some "electricians" wired up my clients pool house with 120v and as soon as they flipped the breaker on the TV along with the stereo and refrigerator all turned off permanently. The TV has ZERO signs of life. No LED and no relay clicks. The working TV does click when you plug in AC, the broken board does not. I have checked a few things like the fuses, the ESR/capacitance of all electrolytic caps, and a lot of the "normal" diodes that I am able to test simply with my diode test meter. I was going to check the voltage on the filter cap and on the bridge rectifier, but those components don't get voltage until the TV switches ON, and the TV wont switch ON with the bad board. Where should I go from here?

Sorry to bump, but I'm still looking for any guidance. What could the relay click when you plug it in (or the lack of a click on the bad board) indicate?

The lack of a relay click indicates there is no standby power whatsoever. That middle yellow transformer is probably the standby supply.

How did the electricians take normal 120V and manage to kill these devices? I would have thought the worst case would be no power or, perhaps fire or arcing from incorrect wiring.

Not sure what the electricians did, this was just the story I got from the TV owner. You think its a bad transformer or something before it? I'm waiting on a part to fix my blue ring tester so how should I test? Measure voltage coming off the transformer?

Compare the diodes around it. There's usually also a small fuse near it - looks like one of these

            Re: Panasonic TH42PD50U no power.

I’m new to the forum, I’ve searched – but need some guidance. I’m a novice at tv repair…. So let me get to the point and see if anyone can help.

I have an older Panasonic plasma th42pd50u 2006 model. The other day it just wouldn’t turn on. I have no standby power light and nothing happens when I push the power button or try to turn it on with the remote. I did some research and deduced that the main power board was the most likely issue. I replaced the board and have standby power (hear the audible click) when plugged in…..but still no LED light and nothing when I try to power turn on. I was afraid that the used power board might have been defective, but replaced the board again and still nothing. I’ve checked the fuses, all capacitors look fine – any ideas what might be causing this issue? Any help greatly appreciated.

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
              by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

Is it possible bridging tiny broken trace
              by chth96
When I assembled dreamcast I mistakenly fastened long bolt and It resulted in
              cutting tiny trace.
This tiny trace(Total width of white coating is 5.5mm) is between R337,R343 and IC101 and it is covered with white coating in the below screenshot.

Firstly I tried to bridging tiny broken trace with my own eyes...But it is totally impossible..So a week ago, I ordered G1200 Digital Microscope and I magnified this tiny broken trace with it.

But It seems that It is really very tiny trace So I plan to order 0.1mm coper wire from aliexpress in order to bridging...

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
              by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

Aorus 17G YD laptop, broken display, could not switch to external monitor
              by ArchangelGabriel
Hello guys! I need a little help, I have one laptop for repair, it is an Aorus 17G YD, gaming laptop. Broken display, some cable ripped form daughter board connector, case broken, battery discharged and probably locked, etc. After I did the most tedious job I ever did on soldering back the broken cables (shielded cable) , I measured resistance on CPU and GPU core, 3 and 5 v ps and any coils I find on the board, everything seems to be fine. After I plugged the charger I don't get the power led light on from the charger connection maybe because the battery is locked , but on power button I have

Resonator - quartz broken - how to find the same (same frequency) ?
              by corrize
Hello, I have a Fujifilm hybrid camera with an issue : the time don't run. I set 12:00 and 3 min later, the same : 12:00
I saw an obvious root cause : a broken quartz (resonator). But with the box broken, I can't read the marking code. Probably : 464… or A64…
I found on the web a picture of the same camera board but with marking code very different. Probably : A7…5N
I'm searching another one for compare…
Do you have an idea or another way for find the frequency of this resonator please ?
