Same drill on testing U3 ? test all pins and report?

Also did you look at my inverter test results in pic? tested on 20k scale on my meter.
I should have done higher resolution, but a couple went OL/1 on 2000 scale so i set the 20k

I can retest if need be.

The 324 is a quad OP-AMP. I do not know if you see the link to shojimmy.com, these two-board set (re-built) is less than $50. So even if you find out you have bad IC, I do not believe it will be practical for you to buy the equipment to work on surface mounted components. You may want to think about that.

yep thats what i was starting to think,Yeah 50 for both not bad at all.

Would you recommend replacing both the master and slave together,or would just replacing the master be ok?

I think i found just the master on ebay for around 25

What are the main numbers to go by on the board? The numbers printed on the board? Or the numbers on the white sticker with bar code?

The one i found ,the printed on the board numbers matched, and most all numbers matched on the paper sticker, but not all.

Also is it really possible to see a faint image on the screen if the display was working with a flashlight??

I cant see nothing,Is there a trick for the flashlight test??

Would feel better if i knew it was actually working

I would get the numbers on the barcode of both boards and contact shopjimmy to verify, he does free shipping also.

IT depends on where the images are on the screen, you may have to move the flash lights around the whole panel see if you can see anything.

Im havn't got with shopjimmy yet but plan on it here soon and get the inverter boards.

Do you think they want my boards as a core?

If they dont want them back,I was thinking about going on and trying to find the problem IC and using chip quick to remove the IC

Have you used chip quick before? Would it work to remove the IC with my weller wes51?

I can get all kinds of electronics at my local recycling yard for 20 cents per pound! You wouldnt believe what ppl take to this place as scrap metal!!!
Cable box's,dvd player's,stereos, vcr's,computers, vintage stereo's,even vintage analog meters and test equiptment!!!

I can get plenty of boards to practice surface mount on!!

If i wasn't to do a lot of surface mount, could i get away with chip quick and my weller, or do i have to get a hot air station?

                          Thanks!

I use a non temperature controlled heat gun and protect the components with Kapton tape. It takes about 30 seconds to remove the smd device.

                                I got mine from ebay.

I got 100ft the widest one (20mm) that I could find for under $5. With the widest one, I can always cut down to size.

Re: philips 42pfl5432d got sound no backlight

I recieved the master and slave inverter boards that i ordered from shopjimmy today, but I still have no backlights guys.
I double checked all the connections, and pretty sure i got everything hooked up right.
I still hear that one tiny quiet chirp on the main inverter board when turning on tv.
I can also can hear one tiny chirp on the main board, when turning on.
I still have sound, but have not been able to see an image on the screen with a flashlight.
The main board is getting warm( some places around 100 degrees tested with infared temp gauge)
                                  Im still getting 24.4 v on each inverter board,and 3.3v on BL_ON.
I notice that there is a ribbon connection on the master inverter board that goes to the small board thats above the main board(I think i have read that it is called the P CON board??)
Could that board cause the inverters not to kick in?
I did fail to mention before that there is a small scuff/scratch in the screen that just barely got into the coating on the screen.(around 1/8'' long)
Dont appear to have been a violent scratch but just maybe happend when the other people had it on its face and was working on it?
But its possible it could have took a blow,I dont know.
Could lamps break from an impact? If one lamp was say broke or burned out would the rest of the lamps still work?
Any other ideas guys? Any help would be appreciated

I'm not a 100% positive but on a computer monitor if a bulb is broken the backlight will still flash on for a second. I would think it would be the same for a tv but i could (probably am ) wrong. What is the panel on your tv. I have a 42" magnavox with a defective screen that you might be able to salvage the bulbs out of IF it turns out to be the culprit.

It all depends on the implementation of the pwm chip on the inverter. Some pwm chips turn on all the ccfls at once and then check with 1 to 2 seconds if everything is okay. If yes, the ccfls stay on. If not, then the pwm chip shuts down all the ccfls. We call this "2 second to black". My sig file has more info about it.

It looks like they are for Dimming control signals for the backlights. That is the T-CON it is connected to.

                                            Hello,

I've got a really strange issue with the speakers on my Philips 43PUS7506/12. It makes this awful loud buzzing now. It happened after it was attempted to be wall mounted - I think the back got squeezed and something broke.
I thought maybe the speakers got damaged, so I replaced them - no dice.

so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

                                            Good day ladies and gentleman!

I am currently trying to repair a Grundig Vision 9 37 9880 T USB LCD TV for a friend that has a weird audio problem. Basically everything works fine except for the heavily distorted sound when the Subwoofer module is connected and there is a buzzing sound coming from the PSU PCB.

This seems to be a rather rare TV so there is not much prior on topic help to be found however a service manual is available at the usual sources (Electro Tanya i.e.).

I think the PSU buzzing comes from one of the coils near the bridge rectifier but...
