"The important thing is that the cable is fully disconnected and then fitted back" and that will make the TV come on? it sounds like the processor is looking for a pulse from one the three input lines.Leave a comment:

Can you do a picture of the area of the board near the socket (9pin)
Front & Back say 4 to 6 inchesLeave a comment:

Re: Philips 42PFL7403D Doesnt turn on
The chassis number is on the same tag as the model tag on the back of the TV.
From what I can see in the diagram, their only 3 signals that are generated by the LED panel that get sent o the processor: 1 signal is the key pad (I was thinking that the Power key was stuck on, so when you insert the connector in lsowing it turns on the TV but then you cannot turn it off due to stuck key, that is why I suggested you to disconnect the key pad). 2nd signal is the IR Remote signal (RC) from the IR module. 3rd is the light detetor (for auto brightness?). Since you can insert the connector (9-pin) slowly into the LED panel board to make the TV comes on, then it has to be one of the 3 that is giving you the problem, keypad is not one of them. IR signal will be the next one to try.
OK. No stuck key, and also the keys do work when the TV is on. But if a button pressed for more than 1 second it shuts down the TV.
Its not the IR signal or the light detector because I have replaced the LED panel control board with a brand new one.
I wrote that I could slowly connect the 9-pin cable back to get the TV to turn on, is wrong. Sorry, I thought so at that point but later I found out that I can connect it fully with the same result. The important thing is that the cable is fully disconnected and then fitted back. (At that point I thought it was due to a bad contact in the connector)Last edited by pacmyc; 08-28-2012, 11:22 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: Philips 42PFL7403D Doesnt turn on
OK, I looked at the service manual, it does not seem to match what you have. In your pictures of the LED panel board, it has two connectors, but the diagram shows 3 connectors. Does the connector on the left go to the Keypad? What happen if you disconnect that and use the remote to turn on instead (the 9-pin connector is in place and connected to the main board?
Do you have the chassis number of this TV?
Yes the third connector (1P09) is just prepared on the board, it doesn't have the plastic holder but the solderpoints are there.
Could the actual chassis be Q591E? (When looking at what software version is installed in SAM-menu). Or is that just the software version?
There is no different behaviour of the TV with or without the 4-pin keyboard cable connected. However, if trying to start the TV with the keyboard buttons it will just kill the red front led and TV will not start.
Also, when TV has started I can use the keys on the keyboard, BUT! if i keep a key on it pressed for more than 1 second the TV shuts down.. StrangeLast edited by pacmyc; 08-28-2012, 10:01 AM.Leave a comment:

I was wrong, the cable is connected 100%. It seems like some signal on this conector needs to go low to start the rest of the TV.Leave a comment:

Re: Philips 42PFL7403D Doesnt turn on
Got the new LED panel control today. Still the TV works exactly the same :S
It has problems turning on. If removing the 8-pin cable from the led panel control and connecting (to half), I can hear the PSU starts working, and then white LED starts flashing. In a few seconds TV is on.
If I now turn off the TV I cant turn it back on without doind the same procedure again.
Im starting to get tired of this TV now, asking you for your last ideas before throwing this set into the trash..Leave a comment:

GREAT!!! couple of possibilities Plug or Connector or Cable
Take apart and check closely with a magnifying glass. Are pins on the board
loose/bent can they be soldered/straightened.
The hollow pins on the plug can sometimes be extracted then you can resolder to the wire.
If there is a break in the wire is it going to be long enough if you shorten it
or else you will have to join some more wire on to it, solder on the hollow pins and refit into the plug
However, there seems to be a short on the board between pin 2 and 9.
I the schematics pin 2 is ground, and pin 9 goes nowhere except for FFAA (which I think is a test-point). Am I correct?
Update: but on the SSB side pin9 seems to be some kind of TACT_SWITCH_INT, that could cause the standby to halt..:SLast edited by pacmyc; 08-09-2012, 01:28 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: Philips 42PFL7403D Doesnt turn on
Just got the TV working!
I connect the mains with the led panel control disconnected.
Then I slowly press down the cable into the connector, and there it goes, starts working. TV is on, everything works great.. But if i turn it off I'll have to disconnect the led panel control to get the TV on again.. :SLeave a comment:

Re: Philips 42PFL7403D Doesnt turn on, breakthrough or not!??
Is there anything I can do with the led panel control to fix it (its 2 layers, and damn small components) or should I start asking around for a replacement board?Leave a comment:

by JorKsXHello. Got my hands on Philips 47pfl6008s/12.
Problem is that it does not turn on. Last owner said the problem came slowly.
One day did not respond to remote, had to unplug from AC and then back and it worked. next day had to disconnect 3-4 times before it turned on.
And then it went into hours of unplugging and replugging until it turned on.
When I plug AC into tv, it does not respond to "turn on" button or anything else.
After 10-15minutes the TV starts blinking red LED twice.
So it blinks twice, then waits 3 seconds, then again twice... -
by pajdekHello, i have some issues with my laptop Lenovo Y700-17ISK (motherboard BY511 NM-A541), it started when i turn on the laptop, but the lcd wont turn on, i then connected it via hdmi to tv and screen was ok. So i thought maybe lcd stripe is faulty, i removed the bottom cover, disconnected main battery, reset the cmos by disconnecting battery for 1 min, then slighty move the lcd stripe. Conncted power supply and tuned on my laptop, the lcd turn on, it started to load os, then it turn off, after a second it turn on, then after like 3 seconds turn off again, and so on. Removed power supply, waited...

by ovraxHello everyone,
First of all, please excuse me as I'm quite new to this field.
I have a Philips 55PUS6804/12 TV. It turns on and off instantly (backlight flash). I personally think it's a backlight issue (faulty LEDs). Could you help me confirm my diagnosis?
I've checked and the T-CON seems to be fine. I disconnected one ribbon cable at a time at the bottom, but the problem persists.
The Ambilight works perfectly and stays on.
No sounds.
Thanks in advance.5 Photos -

I have a Philips tv where the two main fuses are blown. I found a bad cap. I removed it, and now it seems to work. But i have to replace the cap. I do not have the exact same one at home. What's the purpose for it and what values can i use instead?
Its placed across the Drain and Source on a N/Channel MOS
The blown one is 101K, 1KV (check picture). I have 221K, 1KV at home, can i use that?... -
by RdeveLabsTo all the members here...
Let me tell you a little bit about what happened to my laptop (MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX model: MS-16R6) that “maybe” you know how to solve this problem.
So before this problem happened, my laptop was running smoothly. When I wanted to restart my laptop, it looked fine at first. But after I waited for this restart process to take a long time, until finally I panicked (because the restart process did not finish plus the laptop screen only showed a black screen), I immediately pressed and held the power button to force the laptop to turn off. But... - Loading...
