I have read the other posts about this tv but my problem is a bit different than the others. When i plug it in i get a solid red light with no responce at the buttons or remote and when i check the voltage from 1w board i get 120v in,120v out to the p/s and on the 3 prone plug connector from left to right i get -33.3mv,-16.0mv,4.3v. Sometimes when i have it plugged in for a while it will click and the voltages will go up to 2.9v,i forgot the middle one,4.6v. Does anyone have any idea? I replaced 6 bad caps on the P/S and i have the same problem.

Re: RCA l37wd12 solid red light
Anyone?? If i unplug the 3 wire connector and check voltage at the 1w board all readings are in motion rising up and down. Correct me if i am wrong, the 1w is supposed to send 5volts and 3.3volts to the signal board which then sends 5volts to the P/S unit which would turn it on and then the 12v and 24v would activate?

Re: RCA l37wd12 solid red light
Hi - I hate jumping from one thread to another and looking at out of focus pictures where I cant read the board descriptions. On pic1 can you label the boards with what you are calling them.
Pic 2 is out of focus can you retake it, what is the connector number at the top of the pic with 1 red and 2 cream? wires. What voltage do you get at those pins?
Pic 4 and 5 is two halves of a board that would have gone on one picture?
Pic 6 is mainly out of focus - can you get a better shot of it. There are numerous components which look to be voltage regulators- you will have to list and test them at some stage so start trying to get the part numbers off them.
Pic7 Not a bad pic but not very interesting.
We also need to see the backs of the board but only clear and in focus - and without flash.- get them the same orientation as the frontsPlease upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: RCA l37wd12 solid red light
The user on the above thread mentioned that replacing the main board solved the issue. It may be a lead-free BGA failure, again. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: RCA l37wd12 solid red light
Fixed the exact same set today. Symptoms....Set dead, No picture, No sound, No standby red L.E.D. light on front.
I replaced all six secondary caps, 3 - 1000uf 16v caps, 3 - 1000uf 35v caps. on the main SMPS. Obviously bad (bulged/leaking).
Also replaced 470 uf 16v cap on the "1W" standby power supply board (secondary side). No outward signs of being bad, used ESR meter to determine that it was bad.

Thanks for all the info. I was afraid after reading this thread it would be the main board or something major.
