vizio stuck on logo model m470nv

Hey I am trying to fix my tv but Im stuck at this point. The tv turns on, gets stuck on the logo screen for about 90 seconds turns off and continues to loop. Sometimes the vizio light blinks other times it doesn't. I've read a few things on the forum w this problem but it seems it can be a number of things and i don't know a great deal about this tv.

this is a common problem with Vizio, the eeprom information on your mainboard is corrupt.

It could be a T-con issue; freezing on the first frame. Someone had a similar issue with a Westinghouse here.

Try unplugging the T-con cable with the set running, then press the INPUT or MENU button, and plug it in again; if the unit shows a single new frame it could be the T-con.

I thought it was the main board but I didn't want to go buy a new one and not be somewhat sure. Ill let you know how the T-con things goes. Thanks for the replies.

          T-Con note:

If I did that right(very well could of messed up) the logo disappeared but the unit stayed on a black screen. No changes w pressing the menu or input button.

Is there anything else I can do to trouble shoot the unit, to make sure it is the main board that needs replacing? I keep reading and I'm seeing that a lot of it is the main board but I'm also seeing that there can be other problems as well in other areas. I don't really have a clue as to what I'm doing so if there is a thread that I'm just not finding on how to start testing it or what tools I need to do so can someone please direct me to the page. Thanks

If your LCD TV is stuck on the Vizio logo then your main board eeprom is bad, if you know how to solder then you can replace the eeprom chip on your mainboard.

Having the same problem with a M470NV in my shop. I have changed the main board and have the same situation...the picture freezes every five seconds or so and the sound is not interrupted.

I believe these newer LED backlight type unit only have a Mainboard and a backlight driver inverter board in them... the T-con, audio, video, is all built into one board now... I was reading about eeprom issues too...

I got a JVC LED LCD that works fine for a couple hours then screen starts to glitch and bug out... gonna get a can of air and go freeze happy and see what i can narrow down...

This one still has a T-con, but yes, for many newer TVs, the T-con is gone, it is on the LCD panel driver board. Fault there, panel is often toast. Yay, progress.

Re: vizio stuck on logo model m470nv

We've seen that happen due to bad EEPROM/firmware IC as well as because of a shorted HDMI multiplexor.

Both are available online for DIY repair , but both carry the risk of NOT being the source for the shutdown in your particular case. Although less likely, the main processor could also be bad, for example, as it is fairly complex and it may be able to start and execute the firmware all right, but a section of it handling the HDMI or LED driver control could fail to initialie/communicate with the core at a later initialization stage. (hardly the T-CON driver if you already have the vizio logo on the screen, but it illustrates the point)

                        Hope this helps.

Vizio V555-G1 stuck on wallpaper; now stuck on V logo
                          by x_orange90_x
I just got this tv today and it's getting stuck on the wallpaper. When I first power it on it goes to the V logo, then a black screen for about 15 seconds, then a Chromecast error for just a few seconds, and then finally to a wallpaper. It stays frozen on this wallpaper and does not respond to anything on the remote besides power on/off. Likewise the buttons on the tv do nothing either (besides power). I did the "reset" by holding the volume down and input buttons together for 10 seconds. It showed a message at the top of the screen saying it was Wiping Data and would restart soon. After...

                          Hey everyone,

I’ve got a MacBook Air A2179 that got some water damage through the keyboard. Now it powers on, shows the Apple logo, but just stays stuck there — no startup chime, no keyboard backlight, and no progress bar under the Apple logo.

When I try to boot into Internet Recovery (Option + Command + R), the mouse cursor is extremely slow and laggy — like when I lift my finger off the trackpad, the cursor keeps drifting slowly for a second or two.

I opened it up and found some corrosion around the LED driver IC area on the logic board. I cleaned...

Vizio E701i-A3 stuck at logo, need service manual
                          by paulxxxx
The TV stuck at logo and cannot be turned off unless the cord is unplugged.
I was given two main boards and exactly the the same thing happens to both of them.
I have checked all voltages on the connector on the power board that goes into the main board and they all look OK.
There are no signs of damage on any of the 3 boards.

Would someone help me with a pointer to the manual? It's supposedly to be the same as E601i-A3.

                          Thanks!

Philips 8200 series 65PUS8204/12 stuck at Philips Logo, it does not reboot it just stays on the logo.

It does power up when pressing the power button.

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?
