Re: what could have caused this?? burnt connector
it was the main fuse that feeds the primary side, the one near where the 240v plugs onto the board.
yes needed tool, but luckily my boss had one at work, only thing was i didnt adjust it so the first one i crimped just pulled out....so decided to tin the wire with a bit of solder then they crimped good, then i took them back to work and realised i could of adjusted them properly!
overall cost of repair was £10.84
fuses £2.16
capacitors £4.69
connector £3.99Last edited by shepp; 05-12-2012, 02:47 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: what could have caused this?? burnt connector
The fuse was on the primary or secondary?
This fault has been seen in other TVs. It's very dangerous. Did you need a crimp tool to fix the connector?Leave a comment:

Re: what could have caused this?? burnt connector
no mate, see pic on first post, i had to replace the connector and there was 1 bulging 2200uf 35v cap, so i put new connector and socket on and replaced all the 2200uf 35v caps (x3) and the power board fuse (T5Amp). it had blown due to connector failure so had to order some fuses from ebay(couldnt find them any where else), but it said on the listing they were from Hong Kong so thought id have to wait ages but luckily they must have sent them from a company over here in the uk
its lucky the tv didnt catch fire!
them leaded fuses are a real pain in the arse to get over here!Leave a comment:

Yes its the main fuse on the power board, think ill do that, just to test its ok then wait for correct fuse to come, thanks for input matey, if I get any more trouble when ive put the parts in I will post more pics and model etcLeave a comment:

Re: what could have caused this?? burnt connector
If it is the main fuse, it may blow due to high inrush current. Is this the main fuse? You can try running it without the Inverter boards connected since they are the one that draw the most current.Leave a comment:

Re: what could have caused this?? burnt connector
i managed to get the same connectors male and female off ebay so recrimped the cables and put new socket and plug on, just waiting for the caps to come theres 3 in total but only one bulging so thought id just replace all 3 while im in there
another problem is ive had to order fuses from hong kong (T 5 Amp PCB Leaded) but not sure wether i can wait up to 4 weeks for them
ive got some T 3.15 Amp leaded fuses so not sure wether to just bang one of them in for the time being if it'll run, what do you think? just try it and see or wait for the right ones?Leave a comment:

Re: what could have caused this?? burnt connector
Poor connector contact resistance, the inverter usually runs at 24Vdc with about 5A of current. You need to replace the connector and clean the Male posts really well and also check and resolder the male pins as well.Leave a comment:

what could have caused this?? burnt connector
repair on a 42" lcd, found this and 1 bulging cap
ive ordered caps and changed the connector and fuse
this picture is the invertor supply cable that comes from E301791 PSU
could it just be a bad case of bad caps or something else?Attached Filesif you find these attachements useful please consider making a small donation to the site

by TomyleeHi everyone,
Sorry for the person who’s going to read all this !
I'm on a Nintendo Switch Lite, motherboard HDH-CPU-02.
While replacing the left joystick, I had to remove the motherboard to access the connector underneath. When I lifted the LCD connector latch, it broke (the plastic had become brittle over time), so I replaced the entire connector.
During the desoldering of the LCD connector using hot air, three small components located just below the connector (likely 0402 capacitors) came off and remained stuck to the bottom of the... -
First post -Intel NUC 10i5 -BXNUC10i5FNH not powering on -IC burnt- request for IC details/datasheetHi all,
I came across this very active forum with knowledgeable folks on electronic circuits and components, while google searching for the details of my burnt IC marked 7603 in Intel NUC board. I joined this forum today and this is my first post here.
I recently got an Intel NUC 10i5 and had installed Linux Mint and was using it for about a month when it died suddenly and did not power up after that.(Power Adaptor is ok). When I opened the NUC , there was a burnt IC marked 7603 (and ILCB in second line). I am unable to find the details/datasheet of this IC. I will be grateful if... -
Hi everyone, I bought a damaged a2338 MacBook pro with water damage and I'm hoping to learn how to fix it. I've worked on electronic for a long time for never attempted repairing water damaged components. The charge port connection on the motherboard along with the USBC connector is burnt. I'm hoping this is worth my effort and I'm not wasting my time. I've sourced some parts but first I was wondering if there was a way to check to see if it was Beyond repair if there was a fried CPU. Is there anything I should check before I order parts?4 Photos01-31-2024, 08:57 PM

by 5mall5nail5Hi All -
I had replaced my ASUS 4090 Strix cooler with a waterblock and put the stock cooler on the shelf. Was moving it and snagged my sweater on the connector and pulled the wires out of the pins on the RGB connector. I tried to get them back on but its too small so I opened the stamped pins and tried to solder but its not a good repair and the wire broke on reinstallation.
Looking to replace the connector on the cable side and get pins to crimp onto a new cable. Bought random JST and such but nothing is correct. Can anyone help identify the connector and possibly matching... -
by drscootNever saw this before, the speaker connector on the mainboard is half melted down! User says he was using a hdmi monitor when the laptop broke down. Power adapter led is the only live I see currently, 19,5V at the mainboard connector but nothing else. No voltages at the coils.
What could possible cause that burnt connector?
Idea's what to check?... - Loading...
