    Vestel TV issue.

I have a TV here i'm having problems with, the parts it's using are a 17MB15E-5 AV board and a 17PW15-9 PSU, both of which are by Vestel.

I replaced the AV board while doing some dianostics which didn't fix anything, so i put the original back in and replaced the PSU with a reconditioned one, and now it turns on and works as normal but after about a minute the display corrupts and the only thing that works right is audio.
I've noticed that the psu seems to buzz a fair amount at first, and that the corruption happens a lot faster if you simply switch it off them back on again when it crashes out, as apposed to waiting a while, leading me to believe that it's a defective cap or something.

Any ideas? (added pics to help explain the issue).

    Internals:

    Problem:

This is right after turning the display on, working normally

This is about 40 seconds after the display has turned on, suddenly it "crashes" and shows this, sound works normally throughout however menus and other such stuff don't show anymore

I would suspect a voltage regulator overheating. Check if you can find a bad voltage regulator, especially on main board which fall out of spec after the 40 seconds.

Hi - I see that you are in the UK - please can you update your profile to show that and your voltage. Another thing is some members do not like pictures posted in line - they should be added using manage attachments.

I dont know much about tvs but is that a g-luxon cap in pic 5. They are poor and could well contribute to the problem. Are there more G-luxons in the set,
what make and series are the others.

Also in that pic it looks like the cable to the tuner has been on fire? and is
      the tuner scorched? lightning?

Man, very nasty looking wiring! They sell TV with that kind of messy wiring like that?
Where is the connection to the LCD panel?

Unfortunately i don't have any tools with me to test with at the moment, however there's one IC on the mainboard that seems to get overly hot, it's not a voltage regulator though and i'm under the assumption that its usually that hot.

Could the problem i'm having be attributed to the psu?

Yes, if one or more of the output voltages does not stay within spec, things like this can happen.

              Toshiba/Vestel 58UL2B63DB Wifi Issue???
              by ResetReality
              Hello fellow tech heads.

Had this tv come in...issue stated reboots on wifi.

Indeed it does. However, with wifi off or using cat 5 cable no reboot issues.

So far ive changed mainboard and wifi module...also reset tv back to factory via service menu (4725)

Still same issue... i do have a psu to swap but cant see it being that really as works flawless if wifi is disabled

I thought fireware? But why only on wifi?

Is it an issue with the memory cache filling up and having to reboot for more ram??

              At a total...

MacBook Air A2337 (820-02016) USB-C Port Issue – Only Works in One Orientation (CC Line Problem?)
              by rounin
              Hi everyone,

I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.

              🛠 Original Issue
              The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.

I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

Three 820-01700 32GB Logic Boards Same Issue: Won't Wake From Hibernate
              by ugamazing
I have three identical-spec 820-01700 boards (2.6/32/512), and ALL THREE boards came to us with the same fault, from different sources: The boards don't wake from hibernation with the keyboard or lid, they ONLY wake when you press the power button. I understand this is a very minor issue, but the boards must be fixed!

We will of course begin with the obvious (checking lid signals), but I couldn't help but notice these three boards were all 32GB variants. Has anyone noticed an issue relating to these 32GB boards in particular? I of course don't think it's a RAM issue, but it's bizarre...

              Good day Experts
              I have a lenovo Legion pro 5 16ACH6H with AMD RYZEN 7 5800H and RTX3070,.

A weird issue has troubled me. If i power on off the laptop 20 times then only power LED will lit but no fan spin no display. At this stage gpu, vram. DDR voltage. 5v 3.3v 1.8v and the rest are present and cpu core is stuck at 0.84v.

And sometimes lets say the 21st time it will boot perfectly and there is image and everything is working perfectly and at this stage i see cpu core...

The TV was stuck on the logo and I couldn't access the update menu.
I couldn't find the firmware for the Hitachi 32HAE2351 and updated it with the Toshiba 32WA2063DG - Vestel 17MB171 firmware.
The image result was good, but the image is inverted.
The image rotation/mirror function doesn't exist in the Menu Server. I can't correct the image.
