Hello everyone!! I came across this tv on the side of the road and thought i would take a shot with it. Figuring the worst, a shattered screen i brought it home and plugged it in. I have a similar problem as others have, only mine is on the right side instead to the left. When i first turn the tv on with no cable signal coming in, i get snow on the left side and it gets darker toward the center and all the way to the right the screen starts out with a 6" wide from top to bottom white bar that fades to the right off the screen. But the screen doesn't have much movement the whole right 1/3 of the screen. The sound starts out with static then starts to fade off and crackle. Does anyone have an idea to push my way???It would be much appreciated, Thank You!

Re: Sanyo dp46848!!
If the sound and video have issues:
Then i would consider issues with the power supply (test all the voltages leaving the power supply (except for any thick white/pink wires and verify they are close to what they are marked as being on the board.
And second it could be an issue with the mainboard. If you search for a manual for your model it might have some simple troubleshooting steps on which parts to test. (DC-DC regulator tests)Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.

Where are you putting the black probe of your meter?
This does sound like bad caps on the PSU.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

see if you can post some good close up pictures of your board.

Re: Sanyo dp46848!!
I prefer to take the voltage measurements while the boards are connected and the TV is on. Uusually you can sneak a probe into the connector from the top.
Make sure your multimeter is set to DC voltage and not AC voltage, then test with 1 probe on the voltage wire you want to test, and the other probe on the ground pin / or a peice of metal on the frame / case of tv. You can take readings with either ground, usually they are the same , if they are different then you can post that that here.
If your voltages are still significantly off like you posted above, then you obviosuly have some bad power supply issues (caps are a good starting place to check), if you post pics people might see some bad ones.Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.

Re: Sanyo dp46848!!
Its common to put red marker on the top of caps to indicate they have been tested.
If there is any texture / 3d shape to taht red stuff on the top, then those caps have leaked and are bad most likely. On 2 of them it looks like a blob in the pics (and so would be bad), but in 1 it just looks like a marker / or paint coating that is very flat.Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.

This is a video of my tv turned on and this is what its doing! Watch the whole video toward the end the static (sound) will start to disappear then turns to a crackle sound. Hope this will help point me in the better direction meing power supply board, main board, or something with the back lighting..
