Re: Philips 32PFL6606T 32" LED no back light

    Right then folks.......FIXED!!!! WHOOOO HOOOO!

took the complete screen out and the glare sheets,

    1. set my meter to diode check and went through all LEDs at there test points = all were fine

    2. went from the connector that plugs into the board to the first and last LED and check them set at a time (A1 to Led 1 test point and C1- to LED 14(something like that))

    3. found that the connector block on 2 of the LED boards had come away from the board

    4. re-soldered

    5. tested again on diode setting to check the first and last LEDs were working to the connector.....BINGO

    6. re-assembled and tested.....didnt work.......forgot to put the t-con ribbons back in for the screen

    7. put ribbon cables back in.....powered up and there she was in all her glory!!

this looks like it could be a common fault because the connector blocks on the LED boards dont seem that great, the tv i would say is brand new, so i guess when its been delivered it must have took a small knock and bust it off its soldered joint

THANKS EVERYONE FOR ALL THE INPUT, WITHOUT THIS FORUM I WOULDNT HAVE DONE IT, I HOPE THIS TOPIC HELPS SOMEONE ELSE OUT IN THE FUTURE

I've got the same model TV with the same fault.

I read this very useful thread and attempted a DIY fix. Pulled the screen off and found the top LED strip connectors to be loose. Tried to re-solder them (a bit ham fistedly) and now when I power up all LEDs flash on for less than a second before going out again.

            Can anyone help?

            Thanks,
            B

could it be a bridged joint on your soldering? pictures may help us to see whats going on and advise you.

its a very tricky job, i ended up doing it about 3 times, before i got it right and its still working now

i agree with vinceroger69.....sounds like youve got solder where you shouldnt have, try desoldering then redo it, be careful not to get the solder touching the metal plate the boards mounted on!

and make sure its solid before you put it back together, nothing worse than it coming off again on reassemble!

Hi guys, you were absolutely right! Had a bit of solder on the metal plate that the boards are mounted on. Re-soldered it and now the TV is working perfectly. Those tiny little soldered joints are a right pain to get a good connection without flooding the area with solder but hopefully they'll hold up for a good while!
Cant thank you enough for helping and posting this thread to begin with ... probably saved me the best part of 400 squid!
                  Thanks!

This happened last Saturday and today I finally had time this morning before I went to work to replace two non brand capacitors

I will let you be the judge weather or not these are bad or not according to the blue ESR meter that I am using

I am comparing them to a brand new one that I installed

The display came back on and the programming was not lost which I was surprised by I would have thought that when the display went blank that so did the memory as well

I going to let it run for several days before I remount back on the wall next to the...

                    PHILIPS 42PFL7404 no back-light
                    by biogon
I have a problem with the back-light on a 12-years-old PHILIPS 42PFL7404 TV with DELTA DPS-298 power supply. Screen time is 11000h. A month ago the image started to flicker slightly and after a minute it turned off, but keeping the audio. It was necessary to disconnect from the line to turn it on again, with the same symptoms (Error code:17). The PSU seems to have all the components and welds fine. For a while I ran it without the back cover and it held up well without shutting down. With a heat fan I looked for the susceptible area and found it in the return circuit and supervision of the power...

Philips 55 oled 804/12 red light blink
                    by djordje
                    Hello all,

I have Philips Oled 55 (804/12) with black screen and red light blink.

I have opened TV and tested voltages based on similar oled topics, on power supply board i am getting ps_o/f 3.3v and 5v for t-con_o/f while panel_o/f is 0v. And i get black screen.

Also i have done self psb test and i am getting on psb +12V_t and also + 24V for panel. (Measurements on dmm are + 12.3V fot t-con and 22.4 for panel)

When i power only psb and tcon with 4 ribbons for panel i only get black screen.

My questions is what should i do next...

LG 47LA620V Same LED Failing Back Light Issues
                    by jdawg99
                    Hi All,

I need some help with this one please. I am attempting a repair on the backlight. TV turns on and flashes the LG logo so stripped it down and found one faulty LED. Replaced it and tested on an LED tester and the strip was good. Put it back onto the PSU and it lasted about 20 seconds before going out again. Same LED had blown. Changed it for another type of SMD one (same voltage) and it seemed fine. Put the TV back together but it was quite dim. Noticed it was in power save mode so turned it off and the screen was bright. Left it on for half an hour only to come back to the...
