    @lastleg, -this is a dead thread- you would better off starting a new thread....that said you can be pretty certain that if it says capXcon on it, it needs replacing. The residue coming out the top is the electrolytic that makes the cap work, Ie if the stuff inside is outside that cap is not doing its job. Replace with panasonic fm or nichinon from a reliable source (digikey or mouser) hopefully just the one failure is causing your problem, but there could be more that look ok that are bad as well.

        Repaired another one, with the blown 1.5A fuse on the inverter board.

          Can't make a new thread, but I have this TV and when it is first turned on there is a solarization effect on 1 quarter or so of the right side of the TV.

          It eventually goes away (and there is a perfect picture) if the TV is left on long enough. I haven't cracked open the TV yet (to check the boards), but in reading about this it seems like a TCON problem.

          Opinions?
