    Hi Tom
See "Search" above - Type vizio into the search and read some/all of the previous posts. This will give you some idea of the information/pics /details of your problem, your abilities and your tools that you will have to provide
If you then return and make a second post stating what you have done/tried someone may be able to assist you. You may not even have to, you may be able to use the information you glean to fix it without assistance.

As a first idea you could try and find if there is a factory reset for this tv
on line and try that, if you have not already.
Try a hard reset Unplug the tv and anything connected to it and leave for an hour
    then try it again.
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Check the PS_ON line, check the power supply outputs, check the voltage across the large cap on the power supply.

It is DC, put your negative lead on the negative side of the capacitor, and the positive to positive. Be extremely careful, if the cap is working properly there will be approximately 1.4x line voltage on the capacitor, so 168 volts at least!

It shows 164.7 at the larg capacitor on the power board.

with it showing 164.7 will this cause the tv to turn on to logo screen and off meaning i need to replace this capacitor?

I would say your main cap is good. If my past experience with Vizio is any indication, you have a fault on the main board. I will defer to someone who is more of an expert on these, Vizio is very tight fisted about their service manuals. The last time I fixed a Vizio I ended up just buying a new main board which fixed it.

If you really want help you are going to have to give us something to work with.

                          1. We will need two pictures, each close to but not over 2000 pixels on a side. The first should be of the top side of the power supply, the second of the bottom side. To be adaquate we should be able to read component identifiers. To be exceptional we would be able to read IC part numbers.

                          2. AAA third picture showing the printing near the power supply output connector would be helpful.

                          3. IPretend you are writing for an English Composition class. If it is difficult to read your post, I skip to the next thread.

I dont know much, but I have already given up - did not seem to do the basics as I suggested other than a reset. When I could barely read any numbers on the board I went to do a bit of decorating. It must be bad!!

I am very sorry my intension was not to mislead anybody. I was unable to figure out how to upload my actual pictures; therefore I used a picture of one like mine. I was just showing everyone what my power supply looks like. Since then I have figured out how to upload the pictures and will be posting the three pictures that were asked for along with the readings. Again I'm sorry and thank you all for your help, Tom

                                        12V pin 12V while on

Here are some picture of the top, bottom and power output on board. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
