Re: vizio e37ovl turns on and back off
Hi Tom
See "Search" above - Type vizio into the search and read some/all of the previous posts. This will give you some idea of the information/pics /details of your problem, your abilities and your tools that you will have to provide
If you then return and make a second post stating what you have done/tried someone may be able to assist you. You may not even have to, you may be able to use the information you glean to fix it without assistance.
As a first idea you could try and find if there is a factory reset for this tv
on line and try that, if you have not already.
Try a hard reset Unplug the tv and anything connected to it and leave for an hour
then try it again. Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: vizio e37ovl turns on and back off
It is DC, put your negative lead on the negative side of the capacitor, and the positive to positive. Be extremely careful, if the cap is working properly there will be approximately 1.4x line voltage on the capacitor, so 168 volts at least!Comment

Re: vizio e37ovl turns on and back off
I would say your main cap is good. If my past experience with Vizio is any indication, you have a fault on the main board. I will defer to someone who is more of an expert on these, Vizio is very tight fisted about their service manuals. The last time I fixed a Vizio I ended up just buying a new main board which fixed it.Comment

Re: vizio e37ovl turns on and back off
If you really want help you are going to have to give us something to work with.
1. We will need two pictures, each close to but not over 2000 pixels on a side. The first should be of the top side of the power supply, the second of the bottom side. To be adaquate we should be able to read component identifiers. To be exceptional we would be able to read IC part numbers.
2. AAA third picture showing the printing near the power supply output connector would be helpful.
3. IPretend you are writing for an English Composition class. If it is difficult to read your post, I skip to the next thread.

Regulars here reply with punctuation, periods, and paragraphs. We try to be as clear as possible in our explanations and give detailed responses. If you are not going to do the same, we move onto the next thread.
Note PlainBill asked you to check 3 things in post #4 and you only checked 1 of them.--- begin sig file ---
If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.
We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.
Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

Re: vizio e37ovl turns on and back off
I dont know much, but I have already given up - did not seem to do the basics as I suggested other than a reset. When I could barely read any numbers on the board I went to do a bit of decorating. It must be bad!!Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Hopefully this time they will be pictures of YOUR boards as it is, it looks like 16 people have wasted their time trying to find fault with this

Hopefully some of them will be more forgiving than I.Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

Re: vizio e37ovl turns on and back off
I am very sorry my intension was not to mislead anybody. I was unable to figure out how to upload my actual pictures; therefore I used a picture of one like mine. I was just showing everyone what my power supply looks like. Since then I have figured out how to upload the pictures and will be posting the three pictures that were asked for along with the readings. Again I'm sorry and thank you all for your help, TomLast edited by yankys; 02-08-2012, 07:56 PM.Comment

by mrtekHi.
picked up another TV. This time is a Vizio M65-C1. TV does not turn on. I had repaired another 60 inch vizio , Bad main board.
When power button is pressed, the Power led indicator on the bottom right, turns for a few seconds and then it fades away. No backlight or Vizio logo on screen. Removed back cover and repeated test.
This is the TV This TV is a little different from the Samsung I have worked on. Power supply is on the Left side, Main Bd is on the right side, T-CON , not in the picture is on the bottom. I am assuming that the boards in the middle are the LED... -

Hello.
Yesterday my mother encountered a problem with her laptop, which led to it not turning on and expressing the behaviour mentioned in the title (you press the power button and then it turns off after a minute)
Here is what happened:
At one point i was fixing a setting on the laptop to make the laptop properly recognize the NVMe drive i put in months ago. All worked until all of a sudden the computer blue screened. The screen said it would reboot, but it never did. So she held down the power button, powering it off. Pressing it again, the screen briefly turned...Today, 07:33 AM -

by ZiliconHearty greetings to everyone, trust you all are doing excellently well.
Please, I have the above problem, the laptop turned on after the switch was activated but it will turns off in less than 2 seconds.
The power stables in very rare case. Once it was stabled, everything works fine.
Once the power switched is pressed, 5V and 3V were present.
The things i have done:
1. I have check for shorts on the board, but nothing. The board is short free
2. Not a power switch problem, it behaves the same without the switch ...06-10-2024, 05:05 AM - Loading...
