Been a while since I did anything with this, my friend couldn't make up his mind if he wanted to fork out for a tcon board.
Earlier this week he gave me the go ahead, so I got the scope out and found some waveforms at CN1 on the tcon board. Also there is 5v there, so i've gone ahead and ordered the replacement.
T-Con arrived - fitted and no luck blank black screen with backlight.
Looks like someone has been here before me - when I removed the old tcon it became apparent due to some security markings on the back of the board - used by an online seller of second hand parts I would assume.
Due to there being waveforms at the input, this would suggest that the panel is bad, right?
<edit> I recall seeing this tcon listed for a Vizio model also - I will check later which model and do some further research under that model #
I have one of these that had faults similar to yours (not seen byme) when I looked at it it was stuck in ext5 (hdmi) but adding input displayed nothing and no buttons worked, bought a main board and it works now, but the freeview is white screen with sometimes vertical garbage line on the right, thinking maybe the set it came from had a diffrent dvb card? looked at service manual but not sure yet if it might be a setting needs changed, if anyone knows would be gratefull
I think you need to check all the output voltages of the regulator circuits that are being fed by the SW12V, especially the 5vdc regulator that feeds the T-CON board, the blown fuse is shown in the POWER2 SCH.
See the attached PDF that I extract from the service manual.
As you can see, the SW12V feeds a lot of circuits.
Bad panel will not give you balnk screen (there are MANY active parts that being fed by the T-CON board and not likely that ALL have them had failed to give out blank screen), but dead T-CON will give you black screen if you do have LVDS signals feeding it. Check the 5vdc on the T-CON board. Read how T-CON works and how to troubleshoot it: http://www.mediafire.com/?zzjygannjty
The pdf file size limit is supposed to be 9.54MB, but I think there is a bug with the forum software because a few people have tried to upload 5MB pdf files and have failed.
I'm pretty sure it has been reported to the site admin, but so far nothing?

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.
We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.
Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.
The intermittent coloured lines aren't appearing with the new tcon - not sure if it's still intermittent or the new tcon has stopped that part of the fault.
I will have a read over the tcon training pdf tonight when I get home from work. I have already checked for 5vdc at tcon and it is present and without ripple.
Hi guys,
I have the same TV. I'm glad to find some place, where it is discussed.
My problem is not in hardware (I hope), but maybe you can help me too.
TV is fine, but only analog tuner is running. The DVB-T tuner doesn't work. Do you know, how to reset it? Maybe some service menu should helps.
I tried factory reset in standard menu, but after that tv freezes and nothing happened. All settings remains.
I search over the web and found some button combination for similar models to enter the service menu, but nothing works.
I appreciate any help.
Thanks!
Was out today at a friends, and he gave me a TV to look at for him
This one is a Sharp Aquos LC-32AD5E-BK - a 32" LCD with dvb-t and analogue tuner.
Brought it home and plugged it in, after 5 seconds or so there's a click from the PSU and the green LED lights on the front panel.
There is no response from the remote, or any buttons on the TV at all.
Will be taking the back off later and will post pics then.

I have this TV, and have same problems. Green light on but TV wont turn on! Firstly, where did you buy the axial fuse please? From ebay? any part number? Any make? Was it 1.6? or 2.0? have you removed the old fuse or put it on the top of the old fuse?! Is your TV working with replaced T-CON board? or TV is still in the lab for ongoing surgery?! :-)

Power board I have changed most of the caps on this board, apart from a few tiny 1mfd to 22mfd caps and all the voltages check out .
the problem is that the sound and tv turns on but the screen has vertical lines down the screen.
after 20 minutes the picture is fine and will work unless the tv is turned off for 2 hours or so and it's back to square 1.
any hints or help would be great..
ps i am looking at getting a replacement board later in the week to see if that works as I am pulling my hair out.
pps all the caps check out within tolerences with my capatence meter... atlas lcr40
