OK. that is what I expected on Pin 8 (vcc) is 1.8 Ohms which is shorted? If it is, it is bad. Pin 7 also way too low. Next thing to do is to remove the IC and take the reading on pin 8 pad and 6 pad to see if the resistance will go way up.

Ok I attempted to remove the ic . I desoldered it completely and when I used my ic puller the chip just cracked!! There was a weird brown residue left under the chip. The pads are all pretty good just screwed up the chip I will order another one is there anything else I should order

I need you to take the resistance reading between of the pads pin 6 and 8, pin 6 and 7 (this one is to verify if the Gate of the MOSFET is shorted the Source or not, important test.

OK, that is good readings, I would order a couple ICs in case it gets damaged from soldering.

My parts will be arriving this evening should I solder it in and try powering it on or should I leave connectors off and test for 24v and 12v first? Thanks

OK Installed new IC and nothing has changed. I am still not getting the 24V or the 12Vat the connector. Also the Cap is still only giving me 160V DC? I have retaken the resistance measurement with he new chip and GND is not shorted to VCC .

OK, with PSON high, what do you measure -across- the Vcc and GND pins of the replaced IC? You can measure a nearby capacitor which is connected to Vcc if it's hard to access the chip from the top.

When I plug tv in the big brown cap gets up to 160v. I press power button and Visio light changes from amber to white but the cap stays at 160 pson goes up but 24v pins and 12v pins stay at 0

                                            Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                            Assuming...

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
                                            • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
                                            • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault
                                            ...

My Oled Tv is 55inch tv, 3 days ago I notice that middle of the screen is getting warmer and on picture I have ghosting, missing red color. Color red was still displaying, but it was not so strong as corners of the screen and watching some movies makes me angry.
Then I get an idea to take it apart and clean boards from dust.
In side of Tv was not so bad, I take compressed air in can, and gently blow up.

Also I was thinking to styrofoam sponge to isolate power board from screen that the middle of the screen will not worm so much. Because Led on screen when gets higher...
