Xecuter - what you could do is break the tv up into pieces, you will get more than $20 probably close to $40 for one board, then the money you make from that will finance another broken one, possibly a local one from eBay or out of the local paper.

TCON, Main and PSU if you can manage to sell them should easily bring you in $120 then if you have the remote.. bonus, sell it too

Well since I didn't pay for the tv and repair costs so far have been around 20 bucks, I think that if prices for the lcd panels are reasonable then I'd like to see this through.

Do you, tom66 or anyone, know which lcd tv sets are compatible with the vizio vo42l for a lcd panel swap?

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power

tom66 has a point, a set with a good panel in it will probably be easier fixed than swapping the panel (unless it's like a Grundig I was working on recently, where the panel just lifted out after removing the speakers when the back was off)

Sorry, I have no idea about panel compatability with Vizio as they aren't sold this side of the pond. However I noticed when googling some LG part numbers that Vizio stuff was coming up too, so keep in mind that a LG panel may do. (Check the rear of your panel for the manufacturer and part number then google them.)

Can anyone verify the information on the link? Are the TFT modules interchangeable between the listed models?

Hi -I dont read it as Panels are always interchangable between models.

What he is saying that the panel he is selling has been found in all those models. If you had one of those models it is possible that was originally fitted with a different panel so if you bought that panel it would not necessarily fit.
He does say that you have to check the number of the panel you want to replace is exactly the same as the one he is selling.
Reread the bit of his ad beginning IMPORTANT

I assume you are thinking of buying another none working tv hopefully with a working panel.
You would need to work backwards - you know the model number of your panel and before buying you would need to get confirmation of the panel number in that set.
Ive read this a few times and I think thats what I am trying to say.

Hmmm... I see what you're saying.

The seller gives a note to "LOOK for this [part number] on the white sticker." Sadly, I don't know where this white sticker is. I did however see the same part number along with another, I guess, alternate lcd panel in the service manual.

The listed part numbers are: LPL LC420WUN (Vendor: LG, Philips LCD Co., ltd) and LPL LC420WU5 (Vendor: LG, Philips LCD Co., Ltd).

              Is this a match?

There is usually a white sticker on the back of the lcd panel?

You can see the one in the picture on his ad and here is another
                http://www.sparelaptopparts.com/phot...64wd1_tla1.jpg

Its a laptop panel but the idea is the same.

The label is sometimes visible through holes in the supporting frame
but If your panel is broken you may as well take it out anyway.

                "is this a match"

Im sorry but I dont know the significance of the SA A1 so wouldnt like to say and im not sure id trust the manual.
The problem is the panel might be the same, but the SA A1 might be the designation for the connector, which might only fit the lvds cable for a particular set.
