Re: Samsung LN40B640R3FXZA Will not turn on
My LN46B630N1FUZA has the same main board.
Anyone know what components are at fault?

Just ordered this one. Hope it will work.
I didn't know there were other board models that could replace this one. Could have done some shopping around.Re: Samsung LN46B630N1FUZA Blinking ...els that could

Was it similar issues? Any ideas on what's wrong component level-wise?

Samsung LN46B630N1FUZA Blinking Power LED
Hello. I have a Samsung LCD tv from around 2009 and its worked fine until about a month ago when it crapped out. I at first noticed that after long periods of use it would refuse to turn on right after it had been shut down. To remedy this I would simply unplug the set for a while and try again and it seemed to work for about a month but with each successive attempt the waiting/cool down time increased.
The set now fails to power on at all. When I press the power button on the remote control the backlight will light up and the power indicator LED will flash five times from its previous...Last edited by Xecuter; 08-20-2014, 01:29 PM.

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power
Hmmm... I see what you're saying.
The seller gives a note to "LOOK for this [part number] on the white sticker." Sadly, I don't know where this white sticker is. I did however see the same part number along with another, I guess, alternate lcd panel in the service manual.
The listed part numbers are: LPL LC420WUN (Vendor: LG, Philips LCD Co., ltd) and LPL LC420WU5 (Vendor: LG, Philips LCD Co., Ltd).
Is this a match?

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power
Can anyone verify the information on the link? Are the TFT modules interchangeable between the listed models?

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power
Well since I didn't pay for the tv and repair costs so far have been around 20 bucks, I think that if prices for the lcd panels are reasonable then I'd like to see this through.
Do you, tom66 or anyone, know which lcd tv sets are compatible with the vizio vo42l for a lcd panel swap?

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power
So the mosfet I ordered off ebay which was the stp9nk70zfp finally arrived today. This was the final item I was waiting for since I had already replaced 2 blown resistors and an smd ic. I was able to install it, but I got bittersweet results.
I had pretty high hopes throughout the whole process because if I had been successful in repairing it, it would have only cost me a measly 20 bucks.
It turns out that the tv is now fully functional with the tiny little detail that the actual LCD pane is cracked.

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power
You are correct. One of the replacement resistors is slightly larger than the original, but I did get the smallest watt rated resistor. Didn't I?
I really hate ordering stuff from china, but I can't find it any supplier that sells singles in the U.S.
I really didn't want to replace them, but I guess I will. I'll be going to the electronics shop later on today to pick them up.
The caps on the board are half rubycon and half KY minus the big blue filter cap...

Re: Sony KDL-26U3000 dead, no standby power.
Were they regular diodes or zener diodes. My power supply also has no standby power and was wondering about them.

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power
Yes, I was able to find out the watt rating of the resistors. It's just like you said in a previous post that the watt rating depends on the physical size of the resistor. I was able to pick these up at a local electronics parts shop.
While at the shop I asked if they knew anything about the power mosfet and the fan7602 ic and they were unable to come up with any information on them.
I also went to a tv repair shop and the guy told me that they don't sell components over the counter. I asked him why and he...

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power
Also, I don't know what wattage rated resistors to get. I already figured out the values.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'd really appreciate any input.

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power
This is confusing me. Google doesn't give me any exact matches for the controller ic.
How could I find an equivalent ic? I saw this on ebay, but it doesn't give specific info.

I also took a look at the link provided by retiredcaps and there are so many options. How do I find out which one to get?Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power<br...Google doesn'tLast edited by Xecuter; 01-04-2012, 03:11 PM.

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power
So I took another look at IC201 on the back side of the psu and it turns out I missed a fracture line on the IC. bbjunkie was right as he mentioned in post 18.
Now that I know that it needs to be replaced, I can't make out the part number. The numbers I do see are FAN7602.
Does anyone know what this is and where to get it?
Also, could this IC have damaged any other components?...Last edited by Xecuter; 01-04-2012, 02:04 PM.

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power
Could someone help me identify the two resistors that are in the attached photo which are R206 and R202.
I need to replace these and I would like to know their specs.
I believe that:
R202 is a 0.47 Ohm +/- 0.5% metal film resistor, but I don't know the watt rating.
R206 is a 3k Ohm +/- 5% carbon film resistor, and I also don't know the watt rating....

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power
The readout for R206 is in the picture.
R202 only shows a (1) on my meter.
Does anyone know what kind of resisters these are so I may find replacements?
IC201 also has me worried, as bbjunkie mentioned, it might be damaged. Is there a simple way to test this?...Last edited by Xecuter; 01-03-2012, 08:15 PM.

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power
Yes, it is a blue/yellow color scheme. Part of the reason why I got it (hakko ripoff, I know).
Trying to read the resistor is a no go. It's missing a nice chunk in the middle which means there is nothing to read.

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power
OMG you just made me blush. Sadly though, it's not a hakko although I do wish I could afford their lovely products. It's just a chinese Yihua 899D. Works perfectly well I must add.
Now that we've identified faulty components, has the mystery been solved? Or is there likely more faulty components to be found? Also, does anyone have the schematics to the power supply board as I can't identify the value for the resistor in R206?

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power
Thanks for the heads up on the edits. I did notice them and have re-read all posts.
So far I know that the power mosfet stp9nk70zfp is no good as well as a couple other resistors.
I went ahead and checked the fuse again as recommended and the results are in the attached pictures.
As far as the bridge rectifier, I hope I tested it correctly as I tried different combinations of pins like it was suggested. Nothing was under 30 ohms....

Re: Vizio VO42L FHDTV10A No Power
Thank you so much bbjunkie. With your help I'm finally making progress.
I can only find 1 fuse and it's the F1 fuse which has no resistance on it. When I test for continuity my meter beeps. Should be ok, right? I think it has a black heat shrink wrap over it. Is that what you meant, selldoor, by being black?
