Samsung LNA 4065A negative picture Fixed!

    Hi all and Happy Thanksgiving!

    This Tv came in from Illinois (5 hours away) with the customer complaining of red sparkling halo effect and I thought he was talking about reverse picture;

We plugged the Tv in and it ran great for the first three weeks. Then, it started to act up. Kinda like a negative or reverse picture.

The customer was in town and we had him come in to look at it... He said that was the problem except it was red... Our symptoms showed Green.

    See the following pictures.

The first thing we did was to clean the T control ribbon Connection and that did not change anything. We tried another T control Module.. Nothing changed.

Got to thinking it was going to be a main module except ShopJimmy was out of them and the next price was 200 plus dollars..

So,,, did so more checking and tapping... Tapped around the power supply module... and this time... the picture changed... Did more tapping around the top side of the panel thinking it could be the problem... picture changed again...

See ribbon connection going into the main module picture.

The shielding was on before so we were not able to tap around the connection itself but there was enough tapping that it did show up. So I removed the shield and wiggled the connection... and it showed the effect from either red (customer complaint) or green...

We cleaned the ribbon connector.. and the set has been rock solid with a clean picture.

I wonder how many main modules have been replaced but it was the ribbon connector that was dirty and the main module was okay.. Hmmmm

    Hope this helps someone

    Bill

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
    by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

    Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

    First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
    by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

Nec E557Q lines and fade to black picture FIXED
    by S14Sr20det
Trash picked this tv from a local business, had a garbage image and would fade to black within second then cut off. It would get shorter and shorter every time.

Narrowed it down to the right side of the panel by unplugging half the t con
One side had a great picture the other was black and distorted still.

Down to the buffer boards… found yet another set of two esd diode arrays. One leg had a 60 ohm short to ground and would get lower the more attempts made to turn the tv on.

Soldering iron and some chip quick knocked both of them off and...

Samsung PS-50A457P1D Sound but no picture, Fixed
    by Ukdigger
This had heavy dust build up behind the long thin metal plate covering the buffer board at the bottom of the TV. Cleaning the circuit board brought the picture back.

Sharp LC-32D40U Negative picture unless the contrast is almost 0
    by MikeRWK
This only affects the picture but not the tv menus. Selecting any of the default picture settings gives a negative picture but turning the contrast down to 5 'fixes' it but then the tv is too dim which is hard to tell in the pictures.

This tv has a main board, scaler board, and a tcon.

I tore it down so I could probe the tcon which is nicely labelled. I've also included a pic of it.Here are the voltages I got:

    VGH 32V
    VGL -6V
    GAM1 14.6V
    GAM18 185mV
    VLS 14.67V
    3V 3.01V
    RESET 2.95V
    TCLK 0V
    SCC_VDD...
