    Philips 42" plasma screens

News story tonight reports all large philips plasma sets are overheating with badcaps.
They are so concerned about fire hazard they're sending techs to every one with replacement cap.
I'm watching a 60" Philips right now, but it's not plasma, I never liked them.

Dutch company Philips Electronics will make house calls to repair almost 12,000 flat-panel plasma TV sets in the United States because of risks that they will overheat, it said on Friday.

The problem occurred in 42-inch and 50-inch sets. It is restricted to the United States, because the faulty capacitors involved are used only in the assembly lines for the U.S. market.
hehe cheap versions for US market with crapcaps

they probably will be doing board swaps at peoples homes not recappings. 12.000 new boards + labour, nice financial smack in the face.
