    another 50" Philips 50PFP5332D/37

ok im another owner of a not powering up 50" Philips 50PFP5332D/37....I've done a search and havent found anyone that has followed thru with fixing this problem.... heres my problem

when I plug the TV in... i hear a relay click... then about 10 seconds I hear the replay click again... then on power supply the LED flashes 2 times slow then a pause, then it repeats....

ive inspected the caps and all the caps that are "easy" to see are flat , no bulging or leakage... but under one of the heat sinks there are two caps.. very hard to tell but might have very slight bulge.... here are a few photos... i did the best to show the two suspect caps... any help will be great thanks

    Those are bulging.

It looks like you will have to unscrew the power devices from the heatsink and desolder the heatsink to get at them.

After re-installing heatsink, use some thermal paste on the devices in question, to retain good thermal contact.

It is a poor design though; placing the caps there means they will be subject to constant heat. And they are only 85°C rated. The font reminds me of Teapo, but the vent doesn't. Can you confirm manufacturer?

        Any brand code?

SAMXON are okay; one of the better cheap brands, but like all manufacturers, they had a few bad series of caps, and they don't perform as well as some of the "name" brand caps. (Rubycon, Panasonic, etc...)

Before you remove the heatsink see if you can desolder them and lift them out using plyers or some other instrument.

Feel the top of them too, in case the image is giving us a distorted view, they should feel flat (maybe you will also feel the vent, don't worry about that.)

Looks like my upside-down reading isn't that good they are actually 105°C caps but still they won't do too well.

the only other markings i can see is VNA.... the rest is obstructed by the heat sink... i think if I work at it, I can maybe use a pair of forceps after its desoldered.....

thanks again I really appreciate all the help

If you get them out take pictures of them so we can see them bulging and the markings on them.

Also measure the dimensions of them because capacitors come in various sizes and especially in that part of the board, they appear to be very space constrained.

What are the dimensions of those?

Did you leave the leads in the board?

Where are you in the world?

I'm assuming they are 16mm high and 10mm dia, these would do:

Those look like the GF or GL series complete junk.
Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

Just don't buy any cheap capacitors - use low ESR ones.

Check the voltage on the four large pins, should be around 150V from what little I know about plasmas. (Measure from case of TV to these pins.)

                                          Hello, guys!

The same 32" Philips TV I was having video issues, but now I don't have standby led at all. Someone here shared with me the schematic of the power supply, and checking the voltages, I see right after the resistor R604 I'm getting 1.6 v which is too low for enabling the Gate of the Q601 mosfet (the diagram says 4.2). On the R614 resistor I'm getting 181 V in and 117 V out, then through R603 I'm getting the same 117 V in and 59.9 V out, finally getting the latter voltage in the R604 BUT getting just 1.6 V out, which is the voltage that goes on to the Gate of the Q601...

I already try the power button while plugin the plug with no result.
Also put the latest firmware autorun-TPM191E_R.001.004.100.000.upg on a MBR/FAT32 USB stick at USB port2 with no result either.

Could this be an PSU or eMMC issue ?

Philips curling iron - is this a common AC cable?

                                          Hi all,

Wife has 2 Philips hair curling irons half defective - after learning how they're supposed to work and testing them, it turned out that both have defective power cables, and both on the same place; broken wires due to wire bending.
As they were both relatively easy to disassemble, and cables are plugged not soldered (as they can rotate in the handle), I was sure it would be easy to find replacements. But - NO! I'm unable to find anything similar on ebay or Aliexpress.

Not sure if this is something Philips proprietary, or a standard, but the cable plug...

                                          Philips 47PFS7509/12 LCD TV problem

                                          Hi

I have here a Philips 47PFS7509/12 LCD TV which came to me with a weird problem : without signal i could access menu, make a factory reset, access menus, etc.
When i applied cable signal to check image, i had normal picture, but TV was restarting.
I downloaded original firmware and applied the update, but the problem remained.
From a colleague i received a "factory package software" which is a lot bigger.
I made another firmware update, but still did not solve the problem.
Somewhere on the way the error got worse, because at the moment the...

Philips 43PUS7506/12 - Loud blown out sound
                                          by aidanmo
                                          Hello,

I've got a really strange issue with the speakers on my Philips 43PUS7506/12. It makes this awful loud buzzing now. It happened after it was attempted to be wall mounted - I think the back got squeezed and something broke.
I thought maybe the speakers got damaged, so I replaced them - no dice.
                                          • Using the internal speakers, it always happens.
                                          • Using the headphone jack, it never happens.
                                          • Using the digital/optical out with a soundbar - it happens after about 2h/movie runtime - it's never as drastic, it just pops in and out, but I didn't want it to damage the sound bar
                                          ...
